Great Unit
I bought my first Acurite 5 in 1 seven or eight years ago. The temperature sensor finally gave out. I could have ordered a new temperature sensor and simply replaced that part of my weather sensor, but shipping cost for the one ounce sensor exceeded the cost of the temperature sensor itself. An entire new sensor unit was only twice the cost of the single part I needed, so I considered the 7+ years of faithful service in sometimes brutal conditions and decided that other parts might be close to the end of their expected life cycle as well and decided to simply replace the whole unit. It was reasonably priced, and compatible with my older display unit so it was a good bargain. Only took me a few minutes to bring down the old sensor off my 15 foot iron pole, and install the new one. It began transmitting immediately to my display unit. I look forward to another 5 to 8 years of data from this unit. I am very pleased with how well it holds up when one considers it is exposed to the elements 24/7/365. I love my Acurite 5-in-1. The only feature I wish it had that it does not, is a wind "gust" measurement. Aside from that, I call my Acurite close to perfect!

Great while they last
These are good units, after calibrating them they are pretty accurate. My beef is the manufacturer doesn't seem interested in Canadian customers. I tried for over a week to buy a temp/humidity sensor replacement to repair my old unit to no avail. It failed after two years. They won't even accept Canadian Paypal accounts for payment! If I didn't like it so much I would have switched to another brand. Shame that poor customer service has to sour my opinion of a good product. Thankfully Amazon to the rescue, I purchased an entire 5 in1 sensor for not much more than Acurite wanted just to ship me the new temp board. So far happy ending.

Extremely reliable and durable. I have owned 3.
I am ordering my third sensor unit for my original indoor receiving unit/ display. I don't have exact dates, but believe each of my sensor units has lasted at least 5 years. The AA batteries in the sensor I am replacing have the install date on them: March '23. I love having 24/7 reporting of the temperature, wind speed and direction, and rainfall. I also have a standard large plastic tube rain gauge, and find that the AcuRite rain gauge will under report rainfall in a heavy rainstorm. I suspect the tipping cup inside just can't empty fast enough to keep up with the rapid rainfall.

Perfect replacement for a 12 year old well worn unit
I was replacing a sensor that was at least 12 years old. It started to send an outside temp that was 10 degrees too high by feel. Placed it on the original post and put in the old batteries which were still good and it sent a temp to my indoor screen that was still high. I took the 3 AAA batteries out the indoor unit and unhooked the wire. Put it all back together and it registered the same temp as shown on my weather channel app on my phone. Call me a nerd but I like to know what is going on outside my window.
