Best electric tea kettle ever !!!
AMAZING!!!!!!!! Love it so much !!! Watch my video .. but this so much better than boiling tea in a pot or a pan because we all know that we all forget that we’re boiling water in a pot and we’re in another room and all of a sudden we go out and it’s dry as a bone and we burned a pot or a pan. This is way way better I’ve been looking for tea kettles that whistle, and they are never loud enough between you and me I would burn the house down. I knew about electric kettles, but I still wasn’t too sure about him. I remember a very long time ago when I was babysitting for somebody who was from England so they fancy items every kind of product in their house. They had an electric tea kettle, and I thought it was the best thing to ice cream so I decided to investigate and I found this Amazon basic awesome kettle that works perfect !!!! I do not have to worry about my old man boyfriend burning the house down cause he already burned one of my brand new pots that he bought me for Christmas because he forgot about it cause he shut his door and he was watching the news station and completely forgot that he was boiling water or sometimes he comes from a long walk and put the pot of water on the stove and goes in the room and ends up falling asleep and forgot all about it and I forgot all about it and I am basically sitting right next to it watching TV and forgetting that I’m boiling water until I realize I’m boiling water cause it smells like I’m burning something. This awesome item automatically shuts off !!!!! watch my video. The black lever has to be pushed down when you plug it in and you push the black lever down and it starts to boil. It pops up when the water is done boiling and it’s an automatic shut off so if you are in your room, and have your door shut .. or u have loud kids and you’re doing something you completely forgot that you have the electric tea kettle on it automatically shuts off so it’s not gonna burn the house down and it has a special sensor so it doesn’t burn dry it’s a mechanism that’s built in and this is exactly what I need for me for my boyfriend and for anybody else that comes here you’re ninety yr old grandmother you’re mother who has Alzheimer’s burn still wants to do something this is the kettle to get other than that. It’s a little bit hot, but that’s normal. Keep it on the counter. Make sure nobody’s around it when it shuts off unplug it if you want to make it quicker get cool but it does get cool really quick once it automatically shuts off… It’s really a no-brainer but I’m gonna tell you something. This is the best thing next to ice cream if you always leave your pot running in a pan when you’re in another room or taking a shower or an argument with somebody and you forgot that you’re boiling water happens to all of us. Watch my video definitely worth the $20 and something cents that I spent on it Just remember when you want to reheat your water up again or put more water in you have to push the level down to make the blue light on so it starts to work that’s basically your turn on button and you can also flip it up if you don’t want to do the full boil, you can do a half boil pull it up push it up and it will stop automatically. You don’t have to wait for the full boil if you don’t want to. REMEMBER, YOU HAVE TO PUSH THAT LEVER DOWN TO START YOUR TEA TO GET BOILING. YOU’LL SEE THE BLUE LIGHT PLUG IT IN PUSH THE BUTTON DOWN. WAIT FOR THE BUTTON TO POP UP WHEN IT’S ALL DONE BOILING OR YOU CAN HALFWAY WHILE YOU’RE BOILING IT YOU CAN FLIP THE BUTTON UP SO THAT YOU CAN GET YOUR TEA WHENEVER YOU FEEL LIKE IT.

Don’t think - just buy it! Fast and convenient!
This kettle is - dare I say it - life changing! For my family of 6, I purchased the large glass carafe model. We have had this kettle for a year now and it’s still going strong even with daily use. Multiple times each day, typically. I love the auto shutoff; the ‘click’ that sounds is audible enough to alert you that the kettle has finished boiling. I appreciate the blue light that illuminates the kettle so the kids know it’s hot/heating. The release button for the lid is easy to push, great for my arthritis. The handle is comfortable and balanced, easy for both myself and my four kids ages 15, 14, 11, and 10 to lift off the base and pour. Water tastes and smells clean, even though we use tap water, which in our area is a bit hard. We rinse the scale out of the kettle regularly and occasionally give it a gentle scrub with a vinegar and water solution to get rid of any stubborn scale. Cleans up easily. The kettle boils really fast; I would estimate within 3 - 5 minutes. It’s great to have hot water nearly ‘on demand’ for cooking. I use it to quickly heat water for pasta, vegetables, and steaming. I have an electric range and I can put a pot on, turn on the burner, and then pour in a kettle of already boiling water, saving both time and energy consumption that it would take my range to heat the water from cold. We’re big tea drinkers - both my kids and I use it often for that purpose. Hot cocoa, cider packets, instant coffee, etc. - hot beverages are a snap. My kiddos use it to shortcut cooking for teriyaki noodle trays - using boiling water cuts down the microwaving time a few minutes. Noodle cups and instant oatmeal or grits packets are a no-brainer. With boiling water, they even have ‘hacked’ an easy way to make those cheap ramen soup packets - just pop the noodle brick in a bowl with the seasoning, pour over the boiling water, put a plate on top to catch the steam, and let it set for 3 minutes. Easy peasy! We love this kettle and can’t imagine living without one now. I don’t know what we were doing before; well, I do - and I realize putting a kettle of water on the stove isn’t actually a chore. However, the time savings and convenience are well worth the affordable price. Get this kettle! You’ll be happy you did.

Boils water really fast and looks good doing it
This replaced a .6L plastic (no inner steel wall) kettle so it's much bigger around but I measured first to make sure it would fit on my limited counter space and it's fine. I mainly used the old one for Cup Noodles and the occasional instant oatmeal, so 1/2 - 3/4 cup and this new one holds way more than that. The kettle is attractive and seems well-made. The lid is hinged on the handle side and the opening is pretty large,, making it easy to get a brush inside for cleaning if needed. One drawback, it's that the spout is both pretty small and, because the pot slopes in towards the top, you're really tipping it forward to pour the water out. The on switch shuts off when the water boils but it reaches a pretty rolling boil before it does so. Another drawback, of course, is that it's glass, so it's scalding hot when the water boils. you fingers are protected by the wide plastic strip but an inadvertent brush will be quite painful. As for performance, it boils water really, really fast, much faster then the old one, most likely due to the much larger heating area. Seeing the water boiling inside is pretty interesting, too. As long as it doesn't catch fire and burn the house down, which some Amazon Basics have been known to do, I'll be satisfied and can heartily recommend this kettle.
