Fabulous value shoes for formal occasions
For around £21 at time of review, these seam square Amazon Essentials synthetic rubber derby dress shoes are really lovely. But what makes them really lovely is not what's on the outside, but what is on the inside... The rebound element on the sole is very comfortable compared to some other derby shoe models or more traditional designs. They take some of that sometimes painful (especially if wearing all day) flat hardness out of the equation and make for an experience that is longer lasting on your outing. Saying that the synthetic rubber material used is also great - and holds an excellent warm shine. I'd recommend getting the bigger end of your general shoe size range for this style of shoe as it can be a tight fit for toes (I wear UK 11.5s normally but these 12s feel very close fitting.) The only faint annoyance as ever with this style of shoe (not this shoe in particular) is a lack of grip, which always gets me because don't derby shoe designers ever take cold frosty icy weather into account, or the likelihood of coming across slippery surfaces? Luckily theres plenty of grass at the races of course, lol. Love these shoes and highly recommend them especially for formal occasions.

Great value for respectable quality and comfort. Marginal laces quality.
Excellent for the value. I am surprised at the value for the price, and actually quite comfortable. These will not replace my higher end dress shoes, but they are great for a budget need, or a foul-weather day (synthetic option is great for rain or slush). My complaint is minor - the laces are not the best quality (weave is a bit oversized and loose and the end quality is poor).

Great quality for the price
Good basic pair of shoes for events …picture is the shoes after walking all day and a night of heavy dancing initially got them as emergency shoes but will be keeping and adding them to my casual rotation
