I READ A BOOK IN 4 DAYS! I haven't read a complete book in years until I bought this Kindle!
I've been trying to read books again for the last couple of years without much success. In 2025 (and probably 2024), I never finished a single book that I started. That includes self-help, college textbooks, and friend's books! Fumbling with books, turning pages, trying to remember to carry it with me, all of that made it difficult for a working adult with a family to sit down and read, even for a few minutes. Not to mention my arthritis, needing to wear reading glasses, needing a light just bright enough to make out the words, and more. I ordered this Kindle on New Years Day and fully expected to get bored of it in a week and want to get my money back. I downloaded my first book (Included in KindleUnlimited), by an author I never heard of (even though she's critically acclaimed and has had books turned into movies) and started reading. I was INCREDIBLY SURPRISED how easy it was to read on this thing. It's MUCH better than a physical book, by leaps and bounds. I started reading the book on Monday and finished it by Thursday. I can't wait to start my next book! The book was good... and that kept me interested, however... a few things about the kindle made it easy to finish the book so quickly... 1) Mainly, it was how easy on the eyes and the size of the text. I didn't need my reading glasses at all and the text was clearer than any book I've opened in the last few years. 2) It's lightweight and fits in my pocket! I like to (try to) read books of all different shapes and sizes; from large hard back to small and thin paperbacks. It doesn't matter the author's preferred format, this kindle puts them all in my pocket with ease! Plus, one-hand reading is easy, I don't have to "hold back" the other pages while fumbling from page to page. 3) The feel of the screen is smooth and it's easy to turn pages with the same hand I'm holding it in, but even better with a quick swipe of my other hand. 4) It's just the right amount of brightness with the backlight. I can read it without the backlight sometimes, but I prefer the backlight already and my eyes don't strain. It does drain the battery much faster, but I believe I could finish an entire book without having to charge it at all. Overall, this thing is amazing and I look forward to expanding my mind and READING on my spare time instead of playing mind-numbing games on my phone. I do love my card and board games, but they might have to take a backseat. Both my phone and this kindle fit in my pocket easily so if I want to take a break from reading spades and backgammon are always available...

Def worth it
Perfect size & is very lightweight. I absolutely love physical books, but I don’t have enough space for more in my home (plus packing all those books up for moving is a chore & very heavy). I purchased mine in the green color along with the matching fabric case & recommended charger (added up to around $175). It came about a month or so ago, & I haven’t been able to put it down since. The battery is incredibly reliable; the charge lasts FOREVER (realistically—about 5-7 days with daily use). I take it everywhere with me as it fits easily in my bag & the charge holds so well. As far as cost, I save so much money on physical books, primarily because of the kindle unlimited subscription which is roughly $12/month after the trial. I can read as many books as my heart desires for that price alone. *Mwah* Chef’s kiss. The setup was a breeze, but the ‘controls’ were a little difficult to figure out at first, especially on the swipe to get back to the home screen. But everything else is pretty easy. The brightness, text size & other settings can all be changed easily. If you’re going back & forth on the ads vs. no ads feature like I did: CHOOSE ADS. It’s more or less just book suggestions. They only occur on the screensaver, plus the advertised cover art is usually pretty awesome & you get to explore new reads if you want! Long story short: Well worth your dollar if you purchase (or want to purchase more) books & read often. Easy to learn how to use, holds a charge fabulously, & I can’t stress enough—it is the perfect size for reading on the go.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Lightest Kindle Really Feels Like It Disappears in Your Hands
I upgraded to this Kindle mainly because I wanted something I could actually carry everywhere without thinking about it and this thing absolutely nails that idea. First impression: It’s shockingly light. Like, “did I actually put it in my bag?” light. The 6-inch glare-free screen is crisp, easy on the eyes, and perfect for reading in bed, at practice, or while waiting around with the kids. This newest basic Kindle is widely recognized as the lightest and most compact Kindle in Amazon’s lineup, designed specifically for distraction-free reading and portability. What stood out: * Extremely lightweight and easy to hold one-handed * Sharp text with improved contrast and fast page turns * Battery life that lasts weeks, not days Real-life use: This has basically replaced physical books for me on the go. It fits in a jacket pocket or small bag, and I’ve used it in every “waiting situation” imaginable: kids’ activities, travel, even just winding down at night. Pros: * Lightest Kindle available (true carry-anywhere device) * Very readable screen with no glare * Long battery life (charge it and forget it) Cons: * No warm light or waterproofing like the Paperwhite * Smaller screen than premium models Bottom line: If you want the most portable Kindle possible and don’t need extra bells and whistles, this is the one. It disappears in your routine in the best way. 📚

New Kindle is Excellent ! Upgrade Very Easy
I had to upgrade to the new model Kindle (since my old unit was no longer being supported). I really like the new unit. The size is very similar to my old unit - and this was important to me as I prefer a compact unit. The screen is backlit and that is a real improvement over the old unit. Font size is very easy to set up and font size was very important to me. The new unit is very quick and easy to use. It recharges much faster than my old unit. Thanks to Amazon, I was very pleased at how easy it was to complete the upgrade. All of the books in my library were retained, and the unit works very similarly to the old unit relative to the addition of new books. I also appreciate Amazon providing the 20% discount on the new unit. Bottom-line: very pleased with the new unit; easy to upgrade; highly recommended.
