Even better than expected, and the best of both worlds!
I bought this for a chess-loving friend who is handicapped. Thought it would be your typical lightweight magnetic travel game. WARNING: IT'S REALLY, REALLY NICE! Bigger than I expected, and heavier too, but that's okay. You wouldn't use this on a plane I don't think, but it's quite packable, and to leave out for an ongoing game, or hotel use where it might get bumped, it's great. For someone in a residential facility to keep in his room but also take to the lounge for a match, it's PERFECT. Definitely portable, yet attractive enough to put on display, and the pieces do indeed stick to the board and not shift or fall over. Quality product, and it will absolutely make his Christmas this year.

Favorite family game
We love this chess set! The quality is amazing! The pieces are wooden, felt bottomed and also magnetic so they don’t come off the board if bumped. I love that the pieces fit into the back of the board and it folds up to create a streamlined closed board perfect for storing in smaller spaces! Ours hasn’t left the dining room table though as it has quickly become a favorite amongst our whole family! Children ages 10-3 love playing it as well! I also love that it came with an instruction packet that explains the pieces and their movements! Very helpful for first time players.

Absolutely gorgeous, 10/10 would recommend buying. The whole board is magnetic and has a pretty good grip, chess pieces have padding on the bottom to prevent scratching the board, lightweight but still durable, perfect size to take with you. It comes with a little postcard in the box as well, such a nice touch.

Love this set so far. Pieces and board look great, it’s sturdy, the magnets work good. And it came with an extra queen for each color! I just hope the foam holds up that you place the pieces into before closing it up to take it on the go with you. Great for playing while traveling since it’s magnetic.
