So good, I bought another

Aubey is producing some excellent pocket knives. The last one I bought was so good, I purchased another to gift to my son. This Damascus knife tested so well, I purchased another as a gift to my sister who had fallen in love with the knife. Along with my wifes abalone handle Aubey, this is a six Aubey household. So what makes this model special? First is the look that hints at a western gentlemans carry, with a beautiful true Damascus blade that flows into the titanium coated bolster. The rosewood scales are polished nicely with a natural, low gloss look. They are held onto the stainless steel liners with T8 hardware that strip much less easily than standard T6 screws. Those steel liners are milled for weight savings. The handle is very ergonomic and I felt no hot spots when doing woodwork or cutting cardboard. The pocket clip has good retention but still works with my thicker jeans. The pivot utilizes a T8 screw and ball bearings for smooth action. The blade snaps open with the flipper tab or the thumb holes and has a smooth, hydraulic drop. The sound is beautiful, with precise clicks and tings. The gorgeous Damascus blade is the perfect EDC drop point shape, with a flat grind and a razor sharp edge. So we know the knife looks awesome and is built solid. How does it perform? Like a hungry ranch hand working for its next meal. While the knife has some weight to it, its perfectly balanced and the weight goes away when you are using the knife. It just feels solid, secure, and ready to keep working. And it does. From slicing through cardboard to making feather sticks and notches, this knife has retained its edge and has not chipped or rolled. The VG10 core Damascus can take a wicked edge and hold it for a good long while. So the beauty is a beast. Like all folders, it's not meant for batoning wood, but it sure carves it and strips bark precisely. I'm still waiting for the crack in the glass, as this knife just looks and performs way above it's asking price. Now instead of buying this model for the third time, I think I'll buy another Aubey model. After all, it's obvious I can't go wrong with this brand. Highly Recommended

Exceptional Function & Price

I own a few knives from Aubey and think I like this one the most. It arrived quick and well-packaged. The design is less feminine than I thought it would, which is a shame for my wife because she's who I ordered this for originally... The action on this is surprisingly smooth and the balance/weight feels just right for me. The legitimate Damascus blade is a great length and it's insanely sharp. Gave it the trusty "leg hair" test and it shaved better than any other knife I own right out of the box...and I own some very high-end knives. The blade design will make it easy to hone when the time comes, which should be pretty soon since I'll be beating this up as my everyday for a while. The only negative feedback I have is regarding the clip, they use the same shiny bright metal for basically every knife and it just doesn't flow for knives like this. Would be nice if they had a more subdued, brushed option. Won't take a star for that though because I knew it when I ordered it, and it's truly hard to beat the quality of this knife for the price.
