Solid, Solid Turntable
This is here is a rare review for me, and I”’ only sharing it because this is one of the best purchases I’ve made on Amazon in years x possibly the best. If you have the space to let music breathe and can play records at a real, comfortable volume, this turntable is built for serious listening and clearly sits in the upper tier of quality. Yes, it’s pricey, and while I completely understand the hesitation, especially right now, the jump in sound quality isn’t subtle once you hear it in your own space. I upgraded from the Audio-Technica AT-LP120XUSB, which is a solid and widely recommended $300 turntable, and the difference is astronomical, since everything opens up and the soundstage widens in a way that immediately feels more intentional than compressed. I also upgraded the stylus because I wanted to finish the setup all at once, but even without that change, the improvement would’ve been obvious. I’m currently running this through Edifier R1280DBs powered Bluetooth speakers, which aren’t ultra high-end but are honest and capable, and this turntable elevates them right away. The sound stays clean where clarity matters while remaining warm and soulful when the music asks for it, which becomes even more apparent once you switch to headphones and start noticing depth and separation rather than just volume. Bluetooth connectivity has been excellent, and since it’s stable and frustration-free, it works exactly the way you want it to without drawing attention to itself. I spent about five hours dialing everything in, and while it completely took over my day and my budget, I don’t regret it for a second. If you’re on the fence and wondering whether it’s worth it, I get the hesitation, but if you can afford it and you care deeply about sound, this is a beautiful and deeply satisfying turntable.
