Sturdy, versatile and a great value!
I have found the design and manufacturing used in this lightweight tripod to be good quality. The alloy metal in the tubing and tripod base seems plenty durable when used as intended. The cam clamps and phone/camera holder plastic is dense and not brittle. Will it stand up to daily heavy use? Like all things, very well if you take care of it. For me, the features, light weight/portability, and price made it a great choice. This unit is described as dual function since you can hold the folded legs of the tripod base and use it for selfie picks. I must admit that is not an application I would typically use, but I have used the unit as a tripod in several applications with my phone and a compact digital camera. It would also make a good stand for a remote flash. A phone holder and a Go Pro adapter are provided, along with the Bluetooth control (I added a loop of cord to my tripod so I can push the loop through and over the remote’s key fob loop so it stays with the tripod until I need it!). The blue tooth control set up easily and works well with my Samsung phone. I have several tripods and use them for different applications. I have a heavy, expensive tripod I use with a full frame digital camera and telephoto lens. Using it is not convenient for trips with light gear where this selfie stick tripod excels. This unit is a “tripod base” design. When using a tripod on very uneven ground, I might opt for a “full three leg” tripod design where the leg length can be adjusted to accommodate a slope or obstruction. This until works very well on reasonably flat surfaces and typical walking paths, etc. It also works well to set on a desk or table given the small footprint. With the cam locks, adjustments are very quick and help you set up for the best pictures or recording. As an example, the tripod works well at the golf driving range using a phone app to record my swing practice, taking group pictures with friends while hiking or taking wildlife pictures in the garden. It is best to adjust the top of the tripod legs only about one third to one half of the way down from the closed position when in use, so the supports have a strong triangular shape. If the struts are pushed flat to the floor or ground, it reduces the strength. While it is not designed for heavy cameras, I have tried using a larger camera. The pan and tilt at the top use a click indent, which is not a big deal in most applications. However, the pan feature of the top camera mount is supported by a spring. The weight of a heavy camera will cause a slight lean in the camera. The tilt can be corrected in post if needed. In the final analysis, the features, quality, and price are a great value if this style of tripod fits your intended use.

The Best of All (Height) Worlds
After making do for a couple of years clipping my ring light to a tacky and delicately balanced yardstick, I decided I needed to spring for a tripod. At first, I was looking for one that would be just the right height for the ring light setup, but I'm glad I went with this one instead. While I just thought I'd use it for my ring light on my desk, I ended up realizing I had a great tool on my hand. Group photo? Sure! Fastened my phone to the top AND used the amazing remote control and BAM! Great photo! I could just click the remote over and over with no one having to run back and forth to the phone! Make a video for social media? Sure! Same thing: Use the remote to start and stop the video without having to move and reposition myself. This tripod telescopes so tall! It has innumerable settings in between the max and min settings. You can really fine tune the height. The base is also adjustable, so you can widen the stance or make it narrower . . . depending on your available footprint. At the time of purchase, it seemed like more than I needed, but it turns out, I underestimated how much I would use such a versatile, easy-to-use tool. It's sturdy and good quality. I'm patting myself on the back for making such a good choice.

Great tripod
This has been a Godsend. I have to take pictures of outfits I have to review, and this has come in so handy. I have to take my phone out of its case because it gets stuck in the holder if I don't, but the tripod is adjustable and the top part will crane around and bend to whatever my needs are. I also use this to film auditions for extra film parts that require it. There is a remote control that connects and helps you control the camera for that perfect shot.
