Such a beautiful game, well thought-out and fun to play!
I was eager to play this game as soon as we ordered it. We love board games and we love camping! I love the beautiful components and really nice art. The little tiny granola bars are my favorite. So cute! As for gameplay, the game mechanics are extremely simple, and there is a good amount of strategy and challenge. I played with my preteens and teenager, and my teenager won! There is a great variety of cards and outcomes. A bit of luck, and a bit of strategy. We're already shopping expansions because we liked it that much. The artwork is so pretty and inviting, and there are lots of ways this game relates to actual camping, with surprises, benefits, setbacks and enjoyment. The cards have tons of variation, and relevant tokens to be earned for each. A comment about the instructions: there is an instruction video we found by the creators of the game and it is super long! Like 45 minutes! I didn't want to watch the whole thing. I did end up watching the whole thing because I didn't find any others, and we were able to learn to play- but I feel like that video could have been much shorter. I was able to explain gameplay to my kids before playing in a fraction of the time. Setup is not bad, though perhaps a little bit tedious. Everything in the game and on the board is very clearly marked, and everything is very well explained. The game creation is very well thought-through, and well executed. Well done. The storage and the box are outstanding. Everything stores in nice plastic trays with lids and fits very well into your box. The box is a normal game box size- not super small, but not terribly bulky either. We're excited to play again and maybe I'll beat my teenager this time!

Make memories with this family game
This is a game you pull out when you have a solid 2 hours time to spend. You will need that long for setting up the game for play, playing without getting in a rush. Finally then taking down the game to put it away neatly. While I was trying to learn about the Bear Mountain Camping Adventure game I have been enjoying solitary play. How cool is that? A board game that is equipped for solo play is unheard of. That has been tremendously helpful in learning this game. What a wonderful design by the developer. I am impressed by the thoughtfulness put inyo the artwork. This game is beautiful. The cards are designed to make you in charge of your game course. Your selection will determine the outcome of how long it takes to play the game. Take challenges and move your camper while avoiding the bear. That sums it all up in a nutshell but there is so much more behind that statement. Planning ahead to make the best moves over your opponents. This is a game the outdoor fan will love to have. In the designing of this game the developers made sure to put information in that while playing you will come across different areas where Play becomes an area where now you are Learning. Fun facts are sprinkled all throughout this game. This is definitely geared towards the ages 10 and above kiddos. Even at 10 adult assistance most likely will be needed for the first few times playing this. If your family enjoys playing games together and especially games where you need to use strategy to play one another this Bear Mountain Camping Adventure board game needs to be added to your family games collection.

A charming, feel-good game.
We, we *do* appreciate tabletop games that can be played by a single player! That's a positive right out of the box. In terms of fun factor, I also find this game quite charming. Other reviews here have gone into the rules, so I won't go into that here, but for my one solo play of the game, I found it quite the feel-good experience. (I am into games like Stardew Valley, after all.) In terms of the physical quality of the product you buy, there's no plastic here; this is a game played mostly with boards and cards. I have to say that the inside of the box is "formatted" very well; once you've punched out all the cardboard tokens there are specific trays with lids that they go in, and a plastic sort of stabilizer to hold those trays when the game is packed away. Beneath that, a well-slotted base to the bottom of the box neatly holds the cards, dice, board, and other oddments. I love the artstyle and "vibe" of the game product and could almost recommend it just for that, but again, I found the game itself quite fun too. This game can appeal equally to the casual crowd or the tabletop enthusiast, though as tabletop games tend to be, it's fairly pricey. I think the price is right for the tabletop experience on offer, though, and the whole thing looks very slick. All-around thumbs-up from me, though I've only played solo so take that with a tiny pinch of salt.

accessible deckbuilder with a unique twist!
Bear Mountain Campaign Adventure is a fairly light deck building/resource management game set to the them of camping with the end goal of reaching Bear Mountain first. The quality of the components are great for a standard boardgame. As this was not a deluxe version with wooden components and metal coins, cardboard tokens were expected; it was easy to punch out without tearing or falling apart which is great. The game board and player boards were of high quality and the card had good feel to them. Additionally, it was great that game trays were included as part of the standard edition as the insert and trays were outstanding quality and allowed for expansions if decided. Artwork design is whimsical and cute and fairly thematic. Gameplay itself if fairly simple for a deckbuilder with a cool catch; you simultaneously build two decks throughout the game with the resources gathered from playing cards. The cards you draw are determined by where you decide to camp at the end of your turn. So there is some decent strategy to the game. As mentioned, this is definitely a lighter game and definitely a cool introduction/gateway to more complex deckbuilders. Would recommend for people new to the playstyle but it is something to keep in mind for gamers looking for heavier gameplay.
