IMPRESSIVE AT THIS PRICE POINT
Full disclosure.....We own several Bose products ranging from their Wave Radio through indepednent speakers. Product arrived on time and well packaged. THREE separate boxes, two of which had padding. The build quality is typical Bose rock solid. Fit and finish are excellent. Set up was as simple as connecting the power and HDMI cables, powering it up, and completing the start up process using the Bose Music app. The sound bar did require an initial software update, which is not at all unusual. I would say that it took about 15 minutes for the update to complete. There is no progress bar to tell you where in the process it is, so you just have to trust that the installation is going fine. I would suggest to Bose that the inclusion of a progress bar would mke owners more comfortable during longer updates... Once the software update has installed you complete a few more steps on the app and then fire the sopund bar up. The sound quality is what you would expect from Bose. I installed the sound bar 600 ONLY with no subwoofer. Thus far the bar has done an adequate job of supplying base / lower frequency sound. No it will not vibrate you out of your chair, but quite adequate and surprising and your neighbors will likely be happy that you are not shaking their walls. Your result will vary of course due to location, room characteristics, etc...And you will most likely have to fine tune the bass, treble, and center / top speaker setting to suit your room characteristics and your personal taste in sound. Thus far I have only played with the sound bar for about 30 minutes, so time will tell on how well the Truespace works with the upward firing speakers. Speech was very clear without using the app feature which enhances the voice profile through the center speaker. I did move through a number of programs and music apps as a test. The music also sounds Bose good. I have not done a higher volume test as that will have to wait until the wife is not home.....For obvious reasons. So, overall first impressions....I am VERY pleased with the Bose 600 sound bar thus far. Years ago we had the Bose 321 system. The ability to spead out the two satellite speakers may have given that an edge of the side firing speakers, but they were also extra clutter. I will update this review, perhaps over the weekend, once I have some time to really put this sound bar through its paces.

Amazing Sound and Life of the Party for a Soundbar
The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 is an awesome and surprisingly compact package for a soundbar that has a plethora of capabilities to your sound needs and wants. The full breadth of sound that can really fill up a room or open area. Max volume is loud, yet is still clear with highs, lows, and mids. The soundbar performs well with music, audiobooks, TV shows, movies, and video games. Even more, the soundbar continues to deliver with wired connectivity support via optical cable and HDMI for connecting to your audio source. These cables are included for a nice option to get connected immediately. Additionally, wireless connectivity is covered in a multitude of areas. The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 has the option to play from Bluetooth, AirPlay, and Chromecast along with the wired options and it is quick and easy to switch between them. An extra smart aspect is Alexa support, but at the time of review, Alexa access via the soundbar was unsuccessful after logging in. I anticipate that this will be available via an update in the future. Next, the Bose SimpleSync extends the sound possibilities by allowing synchronized audio play with compatible Bose speakers and headsets. For example, the QuietComfort 45 (QC45) headset can connect to devices that don’t have Bluetooth connectivity. It takes less than 10 seconds to be enable, which is excellent. Also, connecting an additional speaker to create a Speaker Group, you allow yourself to be surrounded by sound. The recommend distance/requirement of 30 ft is accurate, so ensure they are this distance or less from each other. The audio levels of each device in the Speaker Group can be controlled via the Bose Music App. The Bose Music App also gives you the audio sync option with the TV or among the speakers for the perfect viewing and listening experience. The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 is an excellent choice for a soundbar that can stand on its own and produce amazingly rich sound at lower and higher volumes from so many audio sources but can invite so many other Bose products to the party to create a symphony in your household. The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 being in your home is a very sound decision.

Big sound from a slim profile!
The Bose 600 smart sound bar so far has exceeded all expectations I've had for a sound bar. I had no idea the amount of sound that could come from such a slim, sleek, and modern designed profile. Some of my favorite features so far are that you can pair Bluetooth, wifi, or HDMI straight to your TV. The unboxing and initial set up is easy, quick, and anyone can do it. The instructions within the Bose app are easy to follow and I would recommend anyone use that to get the initial set up completed. I love that they added Dolby Atmos sound technology to this sound bar - which means you can actually receive surround sound even though there aren't any other external speakers hooked up to the device. They do this with some incredible technology that bounces sound waves off of the walls as it scans the room. I've tried some movies with this so far and the sound experience is incredible. The bass is so strong you can feel it, yet it doesn't drown out the higher pitches or the voices. Music is incredible on the Bose 600 Smart Sound bar. I've listened to just about every genre and style of music so far. You get extremely rich base, but clear instrumentals at the same time. That's very challenging to do in my experience with speakers in the past. They usually do one of the two well, however in this case the Bose speaker does them both well. I love the smart features that allow me to control the music, volume, and mute mic from my phone. I strongly recommend anyone looking to enhance their home theatre to buy this particular sound bar. You won't be disappointed!

Great Atmos Soundbar for smaller space or apartment
This is a fantastic soundbar for small to medium spaces, especially apartments. When I first purchased this, I used it alone without any subwoofer. Later, I purchased the bass module 500. Honestly, it sounded fantastic on its own. If you were using this for an apartment or a bedroom, I don’t really think you’re going to need the sub. However, combined with the Bose subwoofer, it does sound excellent. I use this regularly for both video and streaming music. From a video standpoint, it has a very wide soundstage and it’s common for me to be impressed with the surround effects of just the sound bar, especially how it can throw sound to the side. For music, I really enjoy the sound of the bar. It is compatible with Apple airplay 2, which is how I primarily use it. When grouped with my Bose smart speaker 500 the room is completely filled. When watching movies and TV, dialogue is extremely clear and easy to understand, without sacrificing, Fidelity or soundstage. The sound bar is truly a joy to listen to. Regardless of how you choose to use it, this is a fantastic sound bar. From a value perspective, I think this is best used either on its own or with a refurbished bass unit. Once you start paying full price and adding accessories, it starts getting into the price range of the Samsung Q990 series, which is probably a better value around $1000. However, if you want excellent sound in a small room, then I recommend this as a great standalone product.
