Wow, lesson learned!
I should have just bought this originally and hard wired a Bose subwoofer to the bass port. Definitely learned a good lesson and will not make this mistake again! This Bose TV speaker replaced a Sony HT-S400 2.1 system ($299) that I got on sale at $100 off. I took the deal and regretted it ever since because the Sony continually cut out at random intervals and sounded a little muddled - another story for another time. The Bose TV Speaker name just sounds so plain, no numbers, and no gimmicks, BUT the sound clarity, range, and quality is so far beyond the Sony that there is no comparison. I was able to increase the base a little on the Bose and although not thumping, adds a good amount more of low range. And the dialog is so clear with the extra center speaker that until you hear it you would not know what you were missing. Planning to add a Bose subwoofer in near future, and when added, will result in a 3.1 system with high end left/center/right sound coming from the Bose TV Speaker and a ridiculous amount of base from the Bose subwoofer. A little more than originally planned dollar wise, but in the end this is better than a bundled system sold by the tv brands at a similar price point for sure. Even without planning the addition of a subwoofer, I am more than happy using just the Bose TV Speaker by itself over the old sound bar with a subwoofer, which is actually $20 more today on Amazon. If I remember in the next week or two, I will try to update my review after adding the Bose subwoofer to confirm successful installation.

Excellent audio with consistent levels
This is my third and hopefully final soundbar in my hunt for something that just works. I did a bit of research that landed me on the Bose TV Speaker. This is for a living room with a 20' ceiling and a TV mounted above the fireplace. With young kids, the TV is usually on their shows during the day or mom and dad trying to watch something in the evening. We aren't looking to be fully immersed in booming action movies, dialogue is the focus. The last one I had would drown out dialogue with background music and I was always trying to adjust the levels. This is perfect, I don't have to fiddle with it and it does a great job of staying consistent and I never have an issue hearing dialogue. It connected easily to my Roku TV and even supports Roku TV integration, allowing me to adjust things through the TV interface. I like that it's relatively small while packing powerful audio. The only problem I had may have been due to my TV - when I connected to the Bose over Bluetooth it messed up the hdmi-arc connection and my TV was no longer powering the Bose on and off, I had to factory reset the TV to resolve this and I haven't tried the Bluetooth connection since. Bottom line is that I didn't want to spend more than $200 and I just wanted something that would just work - apparently that is a unicorn in today's age of soundbars - and the Bose TV Speaker is that unicorn

Bose Compact TV Subwoofer is a Great Value!
I recently bought this compact Bose soundbar on Amazon for $199.00. I can honestly say that it exceeds my expectations! Right out of the box you get the sense it’s a high quality product! The construction is solid and robust. My Bose soundbar is connected a recent model Samsung 32” QLED television via the HDMI Arc terminal. The audio quality is quite good IMO. Blindfolded you would swear the speaker was much larger. It’s got great high frequency response and the middle frequencies are crisp, balanced, possessing outside speech clarity. The bass is somewhat attenuated but given the compact size of the speaker it’s still very respectable. If you’re so inclined you can connect compatible Bose subwoofer to supplement the bass frequencies. I believe the Bose subwoofer represents a terrific value in the crowded home speaker market. I’m giving it 5 Stars since it exceeds my expectations!

Great soundbar for a bedroom
Perfect for our needs. We watch most of our TV in our bedroom and this does a great job. Voices are bright and clear. While you won't feel the bass you can hear it well enough. It doesn't sound muddy either. Just the right amount of treble and bass to upgrade your tv speakers.
