Customer reviews

I was a Y*TI snob, then I tried this BruMate. Game-changer!
This was my first BruMate product purchase, and I have bought several more of their products right away. Yes BruMate items are THAT awesome. First off, I am, or should I say, WAS a snob for another product that is a competitor of BruMate -- you might know the one with the name that stars with a Y, and is another name for the Abominable Snowman. I stood firm on my preference for them, and didn't even buy in to the popularity of the cup that starts with an S and ends with a Y that became super popular. I knew what I liked, and stuck to it. Until now. I really wanted a TRULY leakproof thermal tumbler with a straw, not one that was merely leak-resistant. If that sucker fell over in my bag, in my vehicle, or to the floor, I wanted not a drop of my icy cold drink to be spilled. That's a big ask for a tumbler. Other thermal cups keep things cold, are high quality, and are relatively leak-resistant, but to get ALL my wanted features in one cup ... well, that would a triple-threat. BruMate's products ARE triple-threats - they do it all. They keep things cold (or hot if you buy a product intended for hot drinks], are high quality, and nothing, I mean NOTHING gets past the lid or straw when it's tipped or dropped if it's locked down. Don't think I didn't test that before I wrote this review! A nice bonus feature is that they are very nice-looking - a step above the others, if you ask me, as the colours are not just on the tumblers and cups, but also in the plastic lids and silicon bases and straw tops. The "Dark Aura" colour has beautiful hues, and even the lid itself is a rich transparent dark purple. One thing that did make me chuckle was that the "reflections" of colours on this tumbler are not actually reflections at all - they're painted on. One side has a yellowish "reflection" highlight that completely works with the colours, but it's not an actual reflection of anything. It is done well, however. The finish of this tumbler is slightly metallic, but subtle - a nod to a bit of fun, without being excessively bright or showy. On a side note, their pastel and darker solid-colour products are matte, and the colours are much richer in person that in photos. People ask me where I got them as they do stand out among other products. Whomever is choosing these hues for the company has nailed a lux aesthetic in many of the products, while also offering some "fun" options with glitter, etc., and some "in-between" options, such as the "Dark Aura" look. They nailed the idea of having something for every taste. I do have to note that the straw was a bit stiff to turn open and closed at first, but after a couple days of use, it rotates very smoothly. Also, BruMate also sells magnetic straw covers in a two-pack that work well with the soft silicon straw top, and attach securely to the tumbler lid top when not in use. If you don't use a straw cover, I recommend flicking the silicon part of the straw, or tipping the cup after rotating the straw/lid to the closed position before putting in a bag, etc. as there may be a drop or two of moisture trapped in it even after closing it off. To sum things up, this, and other newer design BruMate products are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. 6 out of 5 stars!

The perfect tumbler: truly leakproof even with straw top, easy to clean, and BEAUTIFUL colors!
I am OBSESSED with Brumate! wasn’t a water tumblr person at ALL (I owned none except free ones that I get from events) until this Resa and here’s why… Color: I originally got the dune color, then the sage for my fiance. The colors are DARKER in person, but I actually ended up really loving that for the dune color especially! The colors on the Amazon and on the Brumate website makes it look pale or like a neutral white, but it’s actually dune as they say. As in, it’s white if the sun is shining on it, and slightly soft pastel pink like the sand when the sun hits it at sunrise. I love it. I included a couple pictures attached so you can see what I mean. I don’t really like pure white cups because they are so common, so this beige/light pink color was a nice change. The sage is also darker in person (and not a pastel sage). Leakproof: Like many of the reviews say, it’s truly leakproof IF you use tighten the cup all the way and turn the locking mechanism to the U at the top. I also learned that you have to use the straw attachment it comes with, otherwise it won’t be a perfect seal for some reason. I learned this when I was washing the straws on both the Era and Resa and it leaked when I turned it over (to test), so just keep that in mind! Stays cold: Stays cold for at least 24 hours. I haven’t tried longer just because I always end up finishing my water before then. I’ve also never tried hot liquids in it because I use it for water only. Easy to clean: Everything can be taken apart, especially the silicon base! I loved that because it gave it a nice soft landing when you set it down, felt nice to hold, and prevents scratches from happening. Ergonomics: LOVE the handle. I always end up carrying my bag, phone, and keys in my hand so if I had the side handles (which the Era does), I wouldn’t be able to hook my hand through like I could on the Resa. It’s also less heavy in general if you carry from the top-handle. Accessories: this is not needed because it’s leakproof, but I got the straw caps separately from Brumate to have an exact color-match and also because I can’t stand knowing bacteria and dirt will get on the straw when I’m traveling. The cap is MAGNETIC which is brilliant, so I won’t lose it! Conclusion: I loved my Resa so much I bought the same color for the Era for home, and so I can swap them out when I wash and dry one! I actually drink more water now too because of the straw. I feel crazy that I might actually get more than two colors, maybe to five.. someone help me… all that to say, it’s so great so brace yourself if you take the chance to buy one. Improvements/Asks: A 25oz with the side-handle would be nice. Currently there’s only a 25 oz Resa or a 30 oz Era and it’s just slightly too heavy to carry 30 oz on a side-handle tumblr. Also wish the straw caps came with this (or didn’t always sell out on Amazon) and wish you could purchase the silicon straw top piece separately in case it breaks. Currently the only option is to repurchase the whole bottle…

Best water bottles I’ve ever owned!!
I bought two of these, one for myself in the larger size and one for my son in the middle size. They are sleek, the colors are beautiful, and they ultimately have all the features I’ve been searching for in a water bottle. Locking mechanism, easy to take apart and clean in the dishwasher, super wide mouth for ice with a narrow bottom to fit in cup holders, and a silicon sleeve that fits perfectly and reduces the bulky feel of the whole thing. The magnetic top is an amazing touch and I bought one of those small magnetic straw toppers, which I also love. And absolutely 100% leakproof! Not only that, but they must have some magical antibacterial properties or something because I had lost mine underneath a car seat for over 6 months. I live in tropical humid weather and when I found it I had expected some egregious concoction of mold and mildew and was deathly afraid of opening it 🤢. Nope! Not even a hint of mold, not even an odor. I put all the parts in the dishwasher and it came out like new! Except the silicon parts did need to be physically cleaned with a soft sponge and some soap to get all the dirt off. Even after all that, you’d seriously never know it wasn’t brand new. Absolutely delighted, since it’s such an expensive water bottle. This is definitely a forever kind of tumbler and I’d buy again for friends and family members, or for myself if I ever (permanently) lost mine. Pictured is what mine looks like after the 6 month MIA period :)

Bright, Leakproof, and Easy to Use
Just got mine and the first thing I did was fill it halfway with water and tip it over in the sink. I shook it up and down, side to side, lol. Not one drop! I was hesitant about the locking mechanism but it’s easy as pie. You slide it all the way to one side where it stops to seal, then the opposite side to sip. The metal straw is simple to detach for cleaning — just twist one way to release and the other to lock again. The handle is sturdy rubber with plenty of room to grip without your hand touching the straw. It kept my drink very cold for quite a while considering that I don't use ice cubes. I got the color pink. It's so pretty—glossy and bright, just like the picture. It's very comfortable to hold in my hand, which is important to me, and the grip is excellent—it's not slippery. Overall, it’s bright, sturdy, and leakproof — exactly what I wanted in a travel tumble. It's a great value and worth every penny. I highly recommend. Update: I bought one in the lavender color for my mom and she loves it. I also bought the larger size in onyx leopard for when I get large Cokes at McDonald's. Yesterday I accidentally dropped it on my tile floor and didn't get a dent or scuff on it!
