Works great for my 32oz coffe mug!
I just received my mug warmer over the weekend and had a chance to try it out today. I am very happy with it! I use a giant 32oz coffee mug at work (holds 4 k-cups in it) and my previous mug warmer that I had for about 3 years was starting to lose it's heating power. So I wanted to get another one that would be able to handle my large coffee mug. I found this one and it seemed like it would be powerful enough (25 watts). It definitely works great! It keeps my full coffee mug hot and maintains it at just the right temperature on it's highest setting. Once I get down to about halfway, I can feel the coffee starting to get even hotter, which I can then put it on the low setting and it'll keep it hot enough to finish drinking my coffee without it tasting burnt or old. I just hope it can withstand daily use as I'll be using every day that I'm at the office! One thing to note is that it must have a built in timer for 4 hours and will automatically shut off (which I must not have seen in the description). I don't think adjusting the temperature settings will reset the timer on it either, so you will need to turn it off and back on to have it reset. This isn't really an issue but I'm sure I'll forget to turn it back on when it turns off automatically. I know it's a safety feature so I can't really complain about that. My old mug warmer didn't have a timer on it, and every once in a while I would forget to turn it off when I went home for the night, so I can understand the importance of having the timer built into it. I'll update this review of it I have any issues with it in the long run.

Inordinately pleased with this purchase
I live in northern Minnesota, which should tell you all you need to know about my relationship with hot coffee. We're stoic Scandinavian stock who don't waste money on fripperies like turning up the thermostat; if you're cold, put on another sweater, why doncha. But things get serious when your coffee gets cold in its cup before you can drink it, probably due to your own carelessness in getting lost in your book or forgetting to sip between hands of iPhone solitaire. I purchased two of these mug warmers, one for myself and one for my mother for Christmas, and I am in love. If I might be excused some decidedly un-Minnesotan gushing, this little device is PRETTY GOOD! It heats the coffee from the bottom up, just as the air temperature is attempting to cool it from the top down. The three temperature settings are just perfect, allowing you to set your preferred level of drinkability from "you need a hot-up?" to "oh for nice" to "been on the burner in the church basement for a while". Somehow I managed to resist opening the box with my mom's, but the second my paycheck hit my account today, I ordered a second one for myself. Now I will have one on my desk for working at home, and one for the living room, next to the remotes, candles, chocolate and that big stack of books. No matter how often the four-leggeds drag me to the back door pretending they have to go out, I will have hot coffee. And somehow I know my Swede and Norwegian ancestors are jealous as heck.

Excellent Beverage Warmer
I bought one without the cup and I liked the design so much I bought another one with the cup for my mother-in-law. The heating look great on my IKEA glass surface computer table. It has a weight sensitive on/off switch on the bottom which activates the unit when a cup is placed on it. Remove the cup and the unit is powered off. I really like this feature. I've had beverage warmers in the past that had manual on/off switches and I was always forgetting to turn the unit off. The unit does not get too hot and depending on how hot you like your beverage, you might want to use a lid. I find that a silicone cup cover keeps my coffee or tea just like I like it. The lid does collect moisture and sometimes drips a bit onto the surface of the unit, but the unit cleans very easily with a damp cloth or paper towel. One con is that the cup barely holds a Keurig pod's worth of beverage. If you use a bit of milk in your coffee, the cup is going to be full to the brim. If I were going to use the cup, I would set my Keurig to brew a medium cup of beverage. Since I use my own large cup, no problem. I'll update this if my mother-in-law has any issues with her gift. The power cord length is short. It was long enough to reach from the middle of my table top a power strip on the floor directly below the unit.

The hottest of mug warmers!
I have searched for mug warmers that will keep my teas and coffees warm enough for my wishes, and have had spotty luck, mostly bad luck. Prior to this one, the warmest one had a light or white cersmic base. This mug warmer beats them all! First, there is no ON switch! I was upset at first, because i was used to turning them on prior to making my peppermint tea, so they would be nice and hot when it was ready! But no switch could be found. When i arrived with my mug, i placed the cup on the unit and picked up the manual to find out there where it was. To my surprise, i saw the light was on! So i took the mug off, the light went out. Back on the warmer and the light went on! So, that i consider a better safety feature than most! Then, reading the directions, i saw the most important feature -- three temperature settings! So it will work for anyone's heating needs! I keep it on the hottest setting (167F), and don't even care what the other two are. Finally, if you leave your mug on it and fall asleep, or go away and forget about it, after a specific time it will turn itself off -- the second safety feature. No other mug warmer has these features, keeps your drinks THIS hot, and is safer, to boot! I am thrill with it, and will replace all my other ones with this!
