Beautiful Rich Leather

This is the third bag I have ordered and the first that I will keep. The bag is made of thick, rich colored leather. The only thing that I can criticize is the quality of the buckles. They may not last the life of the leather, which I expect to only get better with age. I applied leather conditioner that quickly wicked into the leather. It looked okay before, but just thought I would do that right away to soften the leather which is quite stiff. The bag came tightly compressed in plastic so that it would not stand up on its own. Taking the advice of another Amazon review, I packed towels inside stretching the leather into the shape it was made to be. I left the towels in for 5 days (during which I applied the conditioner). After I removed the towels the bag held its shape and is ready to go! The bag has plenty of room inside. There are a couple dividers. The main compartment accommodates a portable printer (HP OfficeJet 200) and my Lenovo Thinkpad T14 laptop. It also handles a 13 Pocket Accordion File Organizer filled with papers and forms. I am so pleased with this bag. It's appearance and quality far exceeds the ones I sent back. For the price, it is a very good buy. I expect this to last a long, long time (with the exception of the buckles - but they may hold up better than I think.) Update 5/20/2026 I have been using this bag and am still happy with it, however the leather is not thick as I initially reported. It is rather thin and sewn on to the interior fabric. The photo indicates a piece of the trim that was somehow torn out. I don't even know when that happened. The same piece of trim is quickly wearing through on the part that is the top and bends when you close it. It is possible that the rest of the bag is heavier leather, and that just the trim is the very thin piece. I still get lots of comments on the appearance of the bag and am pleased that it is large enough to contain my printer, laptop and many documents in an acordian file folder. I will enjoy the bag as long as it lasts, but expect the trim to wear through much sooner than the rest of the bag. I would probably still purchase this bag considering the other bags I ordered and returned were inferior to quality. On the other hand, next time I may go to a briefcase dealer and pay a few hundred to get the real thing.

Yeah, it had a powerful smell: the smell of real leather!

I really hesitated pulling the trigger on this. Some of the reviews made this sound like it was going to be a bag made from moldy roadkill held together with spit and scotch tape. I don't know what those reviews were about because this thing is AWESOME. First, I want to address the most common theme in the negative reviews: a terrible odor. I am just going to go out on a limb and assume those reviewers are sheltered puppies that have never actually smelled real leather, or gone outside and touched grass for that matter. My daughter nailed it when she put her nose right to the bag and breathed in. She said, excitedly, "It smells like being in a boot store!" This bag has the unmistakable smell of real leather. We are a family that appreciates western wear. We know what leather smells like. This is it. To someone that has never actually smelled leather, I guess the earthy punch may be surprising. To those that know, this is a fantastic smell. Second, the build quality. Way too early to tell about long term durability, but I can tell you the stitching and hardware all seem to be solid. The lining is evenly and firmly stitched. The seams look sound. The leather is stiff. New leather is supposed to be like that. It is moderately shiny and smooth. Going on that journey as you break it in is the joy of owning a leather work item. It gains character. As far as size and function, I ordered the 16" size. It easily fits my dell tablet/PC hybrid (15") with a little room to spare. Any bigger and things might get dicey. Then I have room for two journals and two Anker PC power banks (in cases), the laptop charger, and some miscellaneous small items. Thats just in the main compartment. The outside pockets are roomy enough for wallets or cell phones. That is just today as it is brand new. As the leather is broken in, everything will fit even better, I'm sure. So, for those of you worried about rancid odors, put those fears to bed. It just smells like leather, which is a great smell. The build quality seems solid. Bottom line: it is hard to beat this price for a real leather bag. I will turn to Cuero again for my Amazon leather needs.

Slick, Classy & Strong

Wow to be honest I didn’t think it would be as nice as it’s marketed on here. Delivered on time and well packaged. My lap top and books fit perfectly. When I held it, it felt professional, classy and very slick. The style appearance is very slick and I like it a lot.  Very happy with this product. It looks good, smells good and feels good. I like the additional space on the outside pockets. Fits a cell phone or even external drives. I really liked the clips. They are sturdy and have the brass vibe. I’m very impressed with this purchase. Glad I’m stepping away from my traditional backpack. Some people may not like that it has a buckle rather then magnet.  Magnets can keep it closed but not secure.  So if you’re someone like me that stumbles or lives speedy. You would want this bag rather than a magnet so that your contents don’t fall out.
