I Love This Set

I am a somewhat late bloomer as far as fixing things around the house. Evidently getting low on funds and having time on my hands were enough incentives to learning how to fix things. Every time I am confronted with a new project I always remember that millions of people before me faced the same difficulty and managed to make an appropriate repair. So I usually sit back and contemplate the simplest solution. If that doesn't work it's off to the internet and YouTube to see how other people have attacked the same problem. I have been partial to DeWalt since I started using their battery-powered tools when working on my landscaping in our large yard. Then I started picking up some of their lithium battery powered tools for work inside the house. DeWalt has always been regarded as putting together high quality products that are durable and easy to use. So when I started looking for a new tool kit I naturally looked at DeWalt. This particular 168 piece kit has basically every set of sockets, wrenches and hex keys I need, both in standard and metric sizes. I wanted a tough well-built set because at my size I can put a lot of torque on a tool. These are made of a durable steel and are also well engraved as far as sizes. One of the major drawbacks I have noticed in other sets is the inadequacy of the tool box itself. This DeWalt set is organized in a strong case and everything snaps into place. I hate it when all of the tools in a set drop out of their intended spaces and have to be placed back into the proper inserts. No problem with this DeWalt set. For what you receive I wouldn't consider this set to be overpriced. Strong tools properly stored in a durable case with a large variety of sizes and configurations. I don't believe that I've ever seen a more cost-effective price.

great for in the truck or on the boat.

I have the smaller version of this kit but wanted the larger set with more tools because the small set was great. I have all these tools, but this set keeps them all together in one place and that is handy. When I'm in the shop I can grab the tools I need from various toolboxes, but when I'm away from the shop, this is more convenient. All the tools are good quality and durable and a joy to use. The case is a typical molded plastic case, and some tools are difficult to pull out while others fall out when you open the case, but that's life in a plastic world. Most of the tool kits I purchase come in these molded plastic cases and they are all the same. This set is no different, however the tools though hard to get out, do stay put when carrying them around. I think it would be nice if the case came with a tool extractor to help get the sockets out since they are the hardest thing to remove.

DeWalt is the one to buy!

I purchased this set a few months ago and there hasn’t a week gone by that I don’t use it. There is a good assortment of tools to get most tasks completed and the tools are very high quality are a very good price. Two things to note, the case is very sturdy and each tool stays in place when opening plus 4 metal latches instead of the usual 2 plastic ones make it very secure. Also DeWalt has great customer support. I had the 1/4” ratchet get stuck in one direction so I contacted Dewalt. Within 2 days a replacement was in the mail and on its way. Very happy with my purchase.

Quality in an organized and well built package

Great sets of tools, premium feel and build. Not much to complain about. I bought and got exactly that. And getting such tools in a set is always a great value for money and the Tool use is easily manageable now that they are all in one place. It has a great range of sockets, which is a big win and the grip is nothing to complain about when the quality is their so I like my set. Dewalt truly does do a good job is delivering quality tools.
