Dyson's V8 Cyclone Cordless Vacuum is a great balance of performance, ease of use, and value for money. As far as build quality goes, Dyson has used very good materials to give a sense of sturdiness, yet still keep the weight down. This model was made to be durable enough to last through normal daily cleaning, and parts like the "click-in" battery and advanced filtration system will help this model stay functional over time. While at some point you will probably have to replace the battery after several years, the overall construction of the vacuum seems to be built to last. As far as style and design go, the V8 looks sharp with its modern look and ergonomic design. Because this is a cordless vacuum, it is easy to navigate around furniture and tight spots, and the lightness of the vacuum means less fatigue when doing extended cleaning jobs. There is also a wall mounting bracket and a “click-in” battery system that makes storing and using the vacuum easier. The controls on the vacuum are also extremely user-friendly. The Motorbar cleaner head (more on that later) is one of the best things about this vacuum. It will automatically untangle your long hair or pet hair, so you don’t have to do anything but press the button to start cleaning, which adds to the user-friendliness and takes away from having to spend too much time cleaning. Functionality-wise, the V8 does an exceptional job as a cordless vacuum. It has up to 60 minutes of fade-free run time and can switch to multiple power settings depending on how much power you want to put toward battery life vs suction strength. Also, because the vacuum can convert from a stick to a handheld unit, it is very handy for getting into those hard-to-reach places – stairs, furniture, cars, etc. The crevice tool that comes with the vacuum gives you even more options to get into corners, edges, and other small areas. The Vacuum’s Cleaning Performance & Suction: One of its biggest strengths. The Dyson motor bar cleaner head provides a lot of suction and airflow for cleaning up all sorts of messes on either hard floor surfaces or carpeted surfaces. The motor bar cleans dirt, dust, pet hair, etc., without wrapping pet hair around the brush rolls. Also, Dyson’s Whole Machine filtration traps 99.99% of particles as small as .3 microns. This really increases the quality of air inside your house by capturing most of what would normally be released back into your home (allergies, etc.). Value-wise, the Dyson V8 provides an attractive package. Although it is pricier than many entry-level cordless vacuums available today, the strong suction ability, reliable battery life, whole-house filtration system, and flexible design of the vacuum make it worth spending a little extra for. In fact, it is close enough in specs and performance to Dyson's new line of cordless vacuums (which cost hundreds more), but is more affordable. Overall, I believe that the Dyson V8 Cyclone Cordless Vacuum earns high marks in regard to its durability, aesthetics, functionality, design, cleaning performance/suction power, and ultimately value.

This review is for the Dyson V8 Cyclone Cordless Vacuum. Manufacturer: Dyson, Model Number: 626415-01, ASIN: B0GT28CSYM The Dyson V8 Cyclone Cordless Vacuum Cleaner has battery power, and weighs 5.7 pounds. It has a bin capacity of 0.14 gallon. The dimensions are 8.3"L x 9.8"W x 45.7". This package comes with V8 Cyclone cordless vacuum, Motorbar cleaner head, wall dock, charging cord, and a crevice tool. This is designed for all types of floors. It has an easy-on / easy-off power button for continuous cleaning. It has a light which helps to reveal hidden dirt, which works especially well on hard floors. NOTE: The vacuum cleaner and parts, were very easy to remove from the box. It was super easy to put together, too. The easy assembly took less than a minute: Click, Click, Done! BATTERY LIFE & CLEANING MODES: There are three cleaning modes from which to choose. There is ECO mode, Medium mode, and Max mode. The different modes are color indicated. The ECO mode is green, the Medium mode is blue, and the Max mode is red. The click-in battery can be charged alone, or it can be charged while attached to the vacuum cleaner. It has plenty of battery power. This cordless vacuum cleaner can run up to 60 minutes of fade-free Dyson power in the ECO mode. I used it in the medium and ECO mode. It ran about 46 minutes before I quit, and there was still some power left. That is kind of funny that I ran out of energy, before it did. None of my older cordless vacuums ever did that. DURABILITY: This was made from strong materials. These were selected for their durability & lightweight attributes. Thus far, I have not had any trouble with the durability. It seems well made. The filter is durable, too. It can be washed and reused many times. Rinse the filter in cool water. Gently, squeeze it dry and let it air dry for 24-hours or more, until it is dry. MANEUVERABILITY & EASE OF USE: I thought it went around table legs, and end table legs easily. It was easy to push close to the walls. The maneuverability and ease of use seemed very good. PETS & HAIR: The All-Floors Cones cleaner head de-tangles all hair lengths. This worked well for pets and long-hair persons. I saw no hair on the Motorbar Cleaner Head after running it over the house 5 days in a row. That is certainly a great feature. That is one less job to do, which sounds good to me. My older vacuum had to be de-haired about once weekly. PORTABILITY: Since it weighs only 5.7 pounds, I found it easy to carry upstairs. Overall, I liked the Dyson V8 Cyclone Cordless Vacuum Cleaner. It has good maneuverability, good battery life, easy portability, and the wonderful Motorbar cleaner head, which detangles all hair lengths, makes this vacuum a good value for the money. Nice improvements to previous model

My very first Dyson was a Cyclone and I’m so pleased to see the improvements that have been made over the years. This is my first one with a button you simply press to turn on with no trigger-style button you have to hold in the entire time you use the vacuum. This is so huge for those with disabilities. Now I can finally buy one of these for my relative with crippling arthritis in her fingers, as I’ve been wanting to get her a quality cordless stick vac for a decade now. The button has three settings, and according to the manual, are ECO (blue light), MEDIUM (green), and BOOST (red). Funny because you’d think ECO would be the green light, so it took me a day or two to remember which was which between the blue and the green light. But the sound of the motor does help you make the determination with all three button presses. You can hear the supercharged boost mode, and you can hear the ECO mode kind of working with you, so it’s easy enough to associate the colors with the levels. I believe they always choose red for the boost mode to remind you that you’ll use up your battery’s charge the fastest in boost mode. This is the simple version of the Dyson stick, so it only comes with the crevice tool and the brilliant vacuum head that knows how to not make a mess of my vacuumed-up very long hair. It all ends up in the bagless part you dump. The only slight problem here is that it also wraps itself around the middle of the dumping part. So I still need to reach in and help it along. I’ve included photos. But we have really high pile carpet and I’m so impressed that something so tiny can suck so much! It also comes with the corded wall charger and wall mount which is helpful because otherwise it has no real home and I end up propping it up wherever I last finished cleaning. There is a light that flashes blue on the side of the handheld part while charging. It does take a full 4 hours to charge, just like it says in the manual, especially if I’ve drained it completely. The clicky parts are a lot easier to take apart and put back together than the original designs for sure. I used to have to ask my husband to pull the things apart on my first unit, but on this Cyclone it’s so much easier. The current price point is $400 which is pretty fabulously competitive, given that Dyson was about the first to bring the stick vac to market. Vastly impressed in the improvements and will continue to be loyal to Dyson. Oh, I forgot to mention this unit is Army Green and gloriously so.
