When I first plugged it in, it did heat at all even on max settings. I was not happy because the blanket itself is softer than any other electric or regular blanket I ever owned and this blanket feels so luxurious. I went on Amazon to read the reviews before returning it. I saw some reviews with same issue. Before returning it I decided to at least try it to the weekend. AFTER THE THIRD TIME USE, THE WHOLE BLANKET NOW HEATS ALL OVER AND IT IS NOT SPOTTY AT ALL, IT GETTS NICE AND HOT AT MAX SETTINGS WITHOUT ANY SMELLS OR BURNING FEELING. I LOVE IT. now it has been almost a two weeks and it is working perfectly. THE BEAT HETED BLANKET I HAVE EVER OWNED. MY WIFE, KIDS AND I LOVE THIS BLANKET.
