Good quality kettle and boil fast with accurate temp as well. 99% metal inside.

Little update: My old glass kettle failed. It was used to boil and fill a 1.7L Stanley thermo. I did not care the capacity of this kettle since I only need 2 cups worth as needed and never to fill to the max line of 1.7L marking. It's coincident that the broken glass kettle is also 1.7L. So I just use this kettle to fill the thermo full. The capacity (1.7L) marking is accurate as it fills to the same level on the Thermo like the glass counterpart. The speed to boil full 1.7L is about the same (or little less) as the glass one. It is designed to have room above the 1.7L for the boiling water so it won't bubble out from the rim. You can see the size comparison of both the metal and glass kettle, which is pretty much the same. Looking for a replacement kettle because my Japan made kettle has a plastic vent cover. The plastic disintegrated over the years and getting a replacement cover is more expensive than a new kettle. So I found this one which fits all the bill. All metal (almost) inside which is good for durability and health concern is a top priority. The only rubber (looks like silicon) part touches water is the seal for the temp sensor. The rest is all stainless steel from cover to bottom. The outside wall is encased with heat insulating material (matte plastic?), so it won't burn your hand. I also see other glass wall kettle but they are not practical at all. First, glass can break, it's hot to the touch, and it must have a rubber seal around the bottom to attach to the kettle's base and heating elements. And you don't need to see/check if the water is ready as all of them will stop when done. This kettle's wire is long, and the base is sleek, so it won't take up more space than the kettle itself. This kettle also comes with adjustable temp setting. I thought it is just for show, but it actually boils the water to the selected temp. It is a plus if you need your water to be at certain temp. One feature I also welcome is the ability to keep the water at the desired temp for a time period. And this kettle boils fast. I now only boil what I need because it's so fast. You can think of a conventional water boiler with a tank or this hot water on demand kettle. I wished all hotels here has a kettle like these rather than a coffee machine which is always dirty and barely usable.

Really nice features, a standout from your average basic electric kettle

This Paris Rhone electric kettle has a number of nice features that make it stand out from your average, basic electric kettle. For one, it is super stylish and attractive-looking with its silver-colored accents. The exterior is plastic, and the interior (including under the lid) is all stainless steel. The plastic exterior doesn't get hot to the touch after heating, so no worries about burning your fingers on it. The heating temperature of this kettle can be adjusted between 6 different settings (160, 175, 180, 190, 200, and 212 degrees F). Some teas get a bad flavor if you steep them in water that is too hot, so with other kettles you have to wait after the boil and hope you waited long enough that the temperature got low enough. You don't have to do that with this kettle. For timing, a full pot of water up to the max fill line took 8 minutes to heat up to the 212 setting, which is good given the large capacity. I also heated about 1/4-1/3 pot of water to 212 and that took about 3 minutes, also a good time. If you push the button on the handle to open the lid, it opens to about a 45 degree angle. Then you can manually push the lid back some more with your hand and it'll open to about a 60 degree angle, easy to fill with water. The base is hidden when the kettle is set on top of it, which I like the aesthetics of. Underneath the base is a feature to keep extra cord length wrapped up if it's not needed. Overall, a really nice product that I am very happy with.
