fun Catan flair meets solid escape room style puzzles in this Exit entry
As a fan of both Catan and escape room games, this hit a good sweet spot of both series. I have done many escape rooms and escape room board games (the Unlock! series is my favorite), and had an enjoyable experience all the way through. It took me a little less than 2 hours solo to complete the 10 riddles, and I did have to use a couple clues to navigate when stuck. Sometimes with Exit games, this can be frustrating, but I really only found once that the answer was way beyond my understanding of how to interpret the numbers. I got through all the clues to get there, but I would not have picked the numbers how I was directed or intended. If you are okay with that happening, I didn't find it to detract from the fun here. The Catan integration was smooth and well-done, and knowing Catan did help me in how to place roads and use resources (but the Exit game here holds your hand in several places if you know nothing about Catan). I enjoyed the brief story as I solved the riddles and felt the ending was satisfying, if not, brief. One thing I will mention to be aware of is that the Exit series of games--this one included--loves to make you write and bend and cut and destroy and examine everything you get to solve the puzzle. Don't be shy! This adventure was no different, and had I not done previous Exit games, I don't think I would've found solutions as quickly as I did. If the clue is asking you to find something visually, it's there on some material, I promise! Overall, this was a great experience, probably my favorite of the Exit series, for it's combination of Catan flavor and solid, well laid-out puzzles! A worthy purchase (and especially during Black Friday deals).

Genius gameplay
This was my third time playing a game by Exit and I am so impressed by this brand. For starters, the app has a great intro for each different game that helps you get started and provides a time clock like an escape room. I love that they use everything - from the box and instructions to the insert that holds the cards and the backs of items. Everything is well made and nothing is wasted. I bought this so my 13 y.o. nephew who is legally blind and loves puzzles could experience an escape room. He’s always wanted to try one, but they just aren’t designed with the visually impaired in mind. I mostly acted as a double check at his request to make sure he hadn’t missed anything. On tougher challenges I’d give him small nudges, like reminding him to look on the box or check cards we’d discarded. He absolutely loved it and found it so satisfying when he’d finally figure out the “trick” to a clue he missed repeatedly. Made the clues he figured out instantly even better. This particular game took up a little more room than the others I’d played, but nothing outrageous. We were working on about 1/2 of a card table. He was so excited when he finished it and loved that I’d found a way for him to finally do an escape room. It’s a one and done game - you can’t even pass it along to someone else to try since you fold, spindle, and mutilate items as part of the play but absolutely worth every penny nonetheless.

Great game
This is an expand pack for the catamaran game, which my daughter adores. It is a moderately complex game that requires thinking and strategy. If your players are teens or older I am sure it will be on regular rotation I am so glad I bought the original game and this expansion pack will only make it played more, which is how I judge if it is worth the price great game

Not you standard EXIT game!! In a good way!
Loved it, Not your standard exit game set up. Easy to follow directions...just trust the process and move through the game, it will be explained as you go. Difficult;y of puzzles varied with some being multi-layered, Use the hints, they are well written and easy to follow. Surprised how much I loved this game. No Catan experience needed.
