Fun Couples Game for those who like brain teaser type games

This is my first EXIT game and I deliberately bought this one that was labelled as just above novice level. Well... I probably should have started with a below Novice level. Ha!!! But seriously, this was fun. If you have ever done an actually escape room you know what you are in for - a bit of odd puzzles that require logic and general knowledge skills. Looking at situations from a new perspective helps too. This particular game is a nice mix of “What the...?” and “Oh, that makes sense”. I played it with one other person and this worked well as we were both into it. The App includes very clear instructions, as does the printed booklet (you don’t need the app if that isn’t your thing). What I liked Most: The puzzles were all different and required thinking over. There are 3 levels of help for each puzzle so if you are completely lost, the hint cards will get you thru it (but do try) The App adds really fun music and sounds which makes it fun - and you can pause the timer on the app if you need a break. What I did not like: The story was a bit off the rails (literally). It starts as a rollercoaster then it has not much to do with that. SO... I just imagined I was in a haunted carnival and didn’t bother thinking about it not being consistent. If you are one to get hung up on story then know ahead of time that it’s not gonna wow you - but it is fun and completely family friendly in my opinion. While it may seem tough, this one is probably a good starting point for those who want to put in a bit of effort to play a fun game with those they love. It is very rewarding to solve problems together - just like in real-life. I will definitely be buying more Exit games.

Clever, entertaining family fun!

Most board games for adults require 4+ players, but this game could be played solo up to 4+ easily! The free app that accompanies game was a big help reading out the tutorials and showing us how to set up and play the game. We listened to this during dinner then started playing with dessert. It was very easy to get started, everything made sense and very clever how they took a small box of cards, etc. and turned it into such an entertaining game! We have played all of the Hunt A Killer games, love escape rooms, etc. With college kids at home, these games are the perfect way to have fun together while we wait out the pandemic. This was our first Exit game and I've just ordered three more of increasing difficulty. So glad I read reviews suggesting to start at novice level. We had two adults play this game, game time about 1.5 hrs, no hints/helps. Great gift idea too! The only thing I'd add is if you don't have great vision, add a magnifying glass to your supply list!

Really fun and challenging!

I bought their Christmas advent calendar, so I got a couple of the single escape games to try them out and get a feel for what to expect. Everyone is different so some will find it hard and some will find it easy. For us, it felt like a great middle ground. Not super easy that we blew through it, but not too hard that we struggled or gave up. The theme was cute, I enjoyed all the pieces and how much of a VARIETY the puzzles were! It created a lot of conversation between us and brain storming on what to do. It took us 71 minutes and we used two help cards when we got stuck. The “mysterious stranger” was probably my favorite part lol. I am intimidated to try the harder versions as this was tricky, but overall it was a really fun date night activity and I’m looking forward to trying more.

Solid choice! So much fun!

We loveeeeee EXIT games! This one was great! So much fun to solve, great price! The design is always fantastic & so well thought out. We love the amount of attention to detail they put into these games! Highly recommend!
