Most excellent!
This reminds me a little of an old Penguin paperback book geared to British students in the 1970s that provided recipes for hotplate cooking in environments where kitchen access was not an option. “Feed Me, I’m Poor” by Michelle McKay is about dorm room survival providing 100 simple thoroughly illustrated recipes for poor students on a budget. The microwave replaces the hotplate here, although toaster ovens are also referenced. Each recipe provides prep and cook times, serving sizes, tips and notes, as well as ingredient lists, step-by-step instructions, and nutrition information. Chapters include: “Dorm Room Survival Mode,” “Microwave Miracles,” “5 Ingredients of Less,” and “One Pot Wonders.” Of particular interest for those stuck living the cash-strapped student life are “Hangover Helpers” and “Meal Prep for Slackers.” Recipes of note are “Canned & Class Tuna Salad,” “Lazy Dhal,” “Spicy Noodle Stir-Fry,” “One-Pot Chili,” “Stew-In-A-Pot,” “Broke Girl Lasagna,” and “Bacon & Eggs…In A Mug.” There are lots of chips and dips, flatbreads and pizzas, quick pastas, wraps, Mac and cheese, and quick egg dishes. The last section, “The Broke Pantry Blueprint” provides invaluable suggestions about stocking up on staples and how to spend your money wisely. Most excellent!

Really Helpful
This book is great! I got it for my brother who’s been trying to save money and learn to cook. He told me it’s printed in color, and it’s really easy stuff to make. I think it’s gonna be great for me too in this economy. I really enjoy that these recipes are practical and don’t make me feel like I have to go out and get 100 different ingredients. Most stuff I have at home already and so does my brother. Get this book. You’ll find yourself reaching for it more than you would think!

Love it!
This is the best cook book I've ever read. Really simple steps to make great food and on a budget. Already made the mac and cheese in a mug. Can't believe how easy it was and tastes so much better than the powder kind. I'm hooked.
