With the right grind and dose, it produces a rich, well-balanced shot with great crema. Even if you’re still learning, it’s not intimidating to use. I’m writing this review after using this espresso machine for a month. I’m not a professional barista, but I’m an enthusiast who loves good coffee and enjoys making it at home. At first, I had a hard time finding the right balance between the amount of coffee, the grind, and the pressure. After a few days, dozens of attempts, and two bags of coffee beans, I finally figured out the perfect ratio that gives me an amazing espresso. I also spent a long time learning how to froth milk with this cappuccino maker—it’s pretty tricky if you haven’t done it every day before. Don’t lower the frothing wand more than 1 cm, and don’t hold it too high either; if you apply the right amount of pressure and catch the steam right away, the milk froths perfectly. My recipe for a double espresso: 18 grams of fresh coffee—I set my grinder to 9, but this varies for everyone—and a 27-second extraction, yielding 37–40 grams of coffee. Every day I make either an espresso with cream, which turns out better than in any coffee shop, or a flat white or cappuccino. This espresso machine isn’t for everyone. It’s only for those for whom coffee is a hobby, because here you can’t just make coffee by pressing one or two buttons—it’s a whole process, and the settings can change every time, so you need to understand which stage of the brewing process to adjust. It took me a month to realize that this machine makes perfect coffee, but you need to have a knack for it.

Hasta el momento he preparado buenos espressos, y la lanceta es bastante potente. Recomiendo esta máquina por todos los parámetros que permite modificar para ajustar los sabores a tu gusto. Considero que no es una máquina para quienes se inician en el mundo del espresso, ya que se necesita un muy buen molino, buen café y, además, conocimientos previos sobre espresso para obtener resultados a nivel de cafetería profesional. Un consejo si la compras: si al inicio la lanceta sale débil, presiona el botón varias veces; después de un rato ganará bastante potencia. También considera aumentar la temperatura para obtener más potencia del vapor. No la recomendaría para personas que quieren un café rápido por la mañana, porque tarda en calentarse debido a su caldera. Tampoco la recomiendo para principiantes, justamente por la necesidad de conocimiento previo, sin embargo si optas por comprar está máquina siendo nuevo en este mundo, te recomiendo que no te desesperes y busques aprender por videos o libros, verás que con el tiempo aprenderás y serás capaz de obtener resultados realmente increíbles. Just what I was looking for in an espresso machine and price point

I have had a Breville Barista Express for 8 years. It’s still going strong. Recently , I started roasting my own coffee. Leading me to want more control over pulling a shot to bring out more flavors. This espresso machine provides all of that at a pricing I can afford. The ability to set pre soaking and soaking time is wonderful for all roast profiles. As is the ability to control the water flow pressure as you’re pulling your shot. The same coffee, ground the same, can be adjusted to bring out different flavors. Another added benefit is the ability to adjust how hot the steam comes out of your frothing wand. As well as setting the end temperature of the milk. It will stop frothing when you reach the set temperature. You can also just turn that off. I keep it on because I love it. The portafilters and the tamper are all excellent quality. You receive a 2 year warranty. I wasn’t sure about buying an unknown brand. This brand is 20 years old , well known in China and Malaysia used in most households. This company is also the manufacturer of miicofffee espresso machines and another brand that I can not remember the name of. I highly recommend.
