Nice leather, nice function. zippers are a concern
I really like this bag. It is a little smaller than its predecessor and only has 2 compartments (plus a zippered pocket on back) versus the three I had previously. Im finding the two compartments manageable. I normally travel with a 13" MacBook and a 12" iPad with case. These fit well along with all my charging equipment and various adapters and extension cord. I have organizers for the accessories which are a necessity in this case, otherwise the main compartment would look like a junk bin, and I would likely have trouble getting the iPad in. The leather on this case feels very rugged and substantial. there is a fabric inner liner that also feels like it will be durable. The stitching also looks to be a thick material and is well crafted, with no loose strings on the ends-- a sign that care was taken in its construction. My biggest concern is the zippers. They are not YKK. They do not have a super smooth feel when you zip and unzip them. They are frequently getting stuck. This may be part of the inner liner getting jammed into the zipper feed. I may try starching this part to see if I can keep it out of the way. I may also try waxing the zipper to see if the added lubrication makes operation smoother. Somewhat fortunately, I don't always use the zippers, I tend to leave the top open for easy access, and when I put it in the car, it is upright so things don't spill out. I can live with the difficulties in zipping. It may get better with time. My biggest concern is if the zippers break, particularly on the front compartment which is zippered on three sides-- a broken zipper here would spill out the contents and have no way of securing the compartment. If this does break, I will likely hand sew the sides shut permanently, allowing access only through the top. Maybe I'll add an emergency sewing kit to the case! Still, the zippers are not broken yet. The operating difficulties are slightly annoying, but manageable. I am not deducting any stars for something that might break in the future. The quality of everything else , eclipses the concern over the zippers-- which may prove to be unfounded. While the shoulder strap appears well made, I can't really evaluate it, as I never use them, I always use the handles on the brief cases and laptop bags I have used. The handles are well made and comfortable. Individually they are thinner than the one on my previous case, but they are still plenty thick, and there is two of them, which naturally helps keep the main compartment closed even if it is unzipped. The handles are actually leather backed nylon, (sewn together) so you get the best combination of durability of both types of material, but you only see the leather. This is the first case I have owned that has a suitcase handle strap thing, allowing you to sit the case on top of a rolling suitcase, and have the bag attached to the handle while moving through the airport. As I am only an occasional traveler, I have not yet been able to try this out. I am excited about the feature though, and I hope it works well! In the mean time, it is out of the way, and appears to be very securely stitched to the case. While the leather appears very durable, it is not adding significant weight. The weight of this bag is comparable to my last bag, which was primarily nylon, and was a little larger. My GF noticed the nice new bag right away. It got her instant stamp of approval in the looks department. I think that the bag looks great, and it is also utilitarian, so that meets both of my main criteria. I also have durability criteria. However, that can really only be evaluated with the test of time. I will certainly update the review if it provides disappointment with this criteria. For the price of this bag, you are getting great looks and great quality. If the bag was 2 or 3 times the price, I would be less forgiving of the zipper's operability, but at this price, I am willing to put up with the minor inconvenience, and also willing to try some DIY improvements to mitigate the issue. This is a REALLY nice bag!

Handsome Leather Bag
I don't know that I've ever had anything made out of water buffalo leather, but I do certainly like this bag. I love the smell of real leather, so it was not a surprise that it had a traditional leather smell when removing it from the protective bag. I am able to store my 16" laptop in the included laptop pocket, which works well and is secured with a hook and loop closure. The leather itself seems very sturdy, and is smooth with a handsome finish, with variations in the finish, which add a rustic and somewhat classic look to the bag, which I love. I actually got a compliment on it the first time I used it, which was a plus. The handle is quite sturdy as wells and it includes an adjustable shoulder strap. The strap on the back for sliding the bag over a luggage handle is a plus. the entire bag seems to be stitched together well, which should contribute to long term longevity. As noted in another review, the zippers are not YKK, but they do seem to be sturdy as well. My one complaint is that the zipper on the front pocket seems to get hung up at the corners of the pocket, but I would guess that will remediate itself as the leather gets more supple with use and the zipper gets broken in. I would rather have that than a zipper that works smoothly at first then breaks a year later. There is enough storage room to accommodate most everything I need to carry with me on a regular basis, and I like that the bag includes enough compartments to store pens, chargers, cables, etc. I'm guessing the the leather snaps shown in the picture are for securing cables, which was an interesting choice. I haven't used them so far, but I suppose it's nice that they are there if I wanted to. I'm impressed with the quality of this for the money, and it will only get better with time. I fully anticipate I will be able to use this bag for a decades, which is a win in my book.
