Customer reviews

Govee is pricey, but you get what you pay for.
I like Govee products. I started with a RGB patio light set I bought when I wanted something that could be universal for just regular lighting, but I could also make festive for various holidays and occasions and now it feels like half my house is Govee. I bought this lamp during a sale with another lamp (the floor stick lamp) because I was wanting something for my home office and the intent was to try them both out and return the one I didn't pick. I liked them enough so I ended up keeping them both, but the stick lamp ended up in a different room. First impressions out of the box like with most other Govee products: the quality is there. It feels heavy and sturdy coming out of the box. The lights themselves are pre-assembled to their central pillar, assembly is just a matter of routing the cable from the lights through a few more portions of stand "pillar" then to the base, so assembly was pretty simple. It stands tall enough it could easily reach over a chair back for a reading lamp, but that wasn't the intention here. Light quality is good, even, no light or dark spots. My love of smart lights is the "set and forget" features so it ramps up usable brightness during sunset, adjusts to a nightlight mode after a certain time (for mine I set it to a slowly fading pattern of blue/white/yellow that looks nice in the darker room), turns off during the morning hours, that sort of thing. I'm still not entirely certain what the function of Matter is, but like with any other RGB product of theirs: the amount of customization is so expansive, I doubt I will ever use 10% of what this thing is capable of. This one won the contest between the two mostly because it was better suited for the space. In my office I have a bookshelf near the corner this light was being put in that partially obscures about 20% of the south side of the room, by being able to aim the spotlights I was able to use the obscured light to illuminate the west side and another light (that by design reached out past the bookshelf) to illuminate the south side. Being able to focus between spot and flood was perfect for making it more of a lamp used to light the space with choosing flood on the light closer to the corner walls and spot for the further away walls. All-in-all it fits very well and I couldn't be happier with it.

It’s so fun, but if you’re looking to light up an entire room see below
I am so in love with this lamp! It is so cool. There are so many settings and the app allows you to be creative and people post the different types of settings that they like and they’ve customized. It is so neat!! as far as brightness (because of how it’s shaped), it does have a spotlight sort of effect, but you can definitely use it in a study or for reading as long as you don’t mind the sort of spotlight vs a broad stroke Omni. It was definitely one of my concerns because I want to use this in my office. And because people post so many pictures of it looking cool with different colors I will post a photo of it looking bright (an extreme angle fir understanding purposes) and how it reflects in case someone really wants to use this to light up a room. It will cast very heavy shadows, but be very bright within the spotlight. The light beam reaches across my living room. So depending on what kind of a space you’re gonna use it in , you might want an offset light to help balance the heavy Spotlight. But that’s only in that case. It’s amazing for dim and fun lighting. I absolutely love it!!!

Enhanced my home theater experience!
Good quality materials and easy to setup. Goes great with my current Govee setup. (Tv backlight 3 lite, light bars, and tree lamp) Paired them all in “dreamview” for the movie theater experience. Love it so far. I would definitely recommend this product for a background setup if you plan to pair with the tv lights. I suggest purchasing the floor lamp 1, 2, or the pro if you want something placed on both sides of the tv as seen in most Govee theater setups. Also to note that the color blends are great but I do feel like the other floor lamps can blend the colors better for movies. That’s why I recommend the other ones if you want to place them side by side with the tv. Other than that it’s a great lamp that provides nice moods and it has very good brightness. I do not regret my purchase. Worth the money!

Great Lamp for small places
I value my space. I dont have a big room by any means so any space i can save/capitalize on the better. The bottom base is small/narrow I can fit in narrow spots that otherwise couldnt fit a lamp. Was easy to assemble. It does havr some weight to it, so its best to place on a leveled surface. I love the ability that govee brings. It complements my gaming setup. Been with govee since their release and i wouldnt pick any other brand for RGB lights. Brightness isnt high but it makes up for it by creating spot lights. This is supoose to compliment your exsisting light source by introducing more light to a room. Lovebthe quality. Feels firm, heavy, tough. I dont expext this to be easily broken. Worth the money. Great for gamers and wana add more color
