my favorite every day cookbook ever
I've made 10 recipes from this book already, and I've only had it 3 weeks! I cook vegetarian for my husband. Many out of 146 recipes are vegetarian, and some of the vegetarian recipes are easy enough to modify. I have 140 cookbooks, including the other 2 cookbooks from the same author, but I'm really liking this one for every day cooking. The recipes are relatively simple, but not boring. Every recipe has an appetizing picture for extra inspiration. In general, I can make most of the recipes without buying many unique ingredients and there are not excessive dishes created. I can browse the book and find many recipes I can make with the ingredients I have on hand. Recipes I'd give an A grade: Chipotle cheddar corn chowder (used leftovers as a dip with tortilla chips -yum), Herb & Mustard Potato Stacks, Herby sun-dried tomato salad with Chickpeas, Double Apple Dutch Baby (apple butter, whole wheat flour and cardamon are nice touches), Dad's Cheesy Tacos (I used black beans instead of beef), Pale Ale Cauliflower Soup (used vegetarian bacon but real bacon would be much better). I'd give a B to: Easy Ricotta Ravioli with Corn (it isn't really that easy to make ravioli with won ton wrappers), Sweet and Spicy Ginger Soy Noodles (too soupy), Crispy Cauliflower Feta Bowls (kind of boring), Balsamic Mushrooms over orzo (pine nuts would be better than walnuts). There are many more recipes that I want to make including Sheet Pan French Toast, Maple Oatmeal Lace Cookies, Naan Breakfast Sandwich with soft scrambled egg and honey, Wild Mushroom Pappardelle, Cauliflower Gnocchi, Green Curry with Sesame and Broccoli, Cheesy Tortilla Skillet, Mushroom Pizza with miso butter shallots, Lasagna Alla Vodka, Roasted Cauliflower and lemon pesto pizza, Cheddar Ranch snack crackers, and more.

I love Half Baked Harvest!
I have been following Tieghan on Instagram for a few years. I heard of her after being sent her recipes by friends on multiple occasions. I’ve made several of her dishes and some I have on repeat in my kitchen. My husband loves when I cook one of her specialties! They are so good and comforting. I love her flavors and combination of meat and vegetarian recipes. There is a good mix of dishes, some rather simple and some complex or time consuming which is awesome since I’m human and don’t always want to cook and sometimes I want to go all out. Some of the recipes are brand new and others variations of what I’ve seen on her site. I appreciate this because sometimes it’s a bit deflating when you get a new cookbook and zero recipes peak your interest or just seem too out there or complicated to start. Having a handful of her classic Half Baked Harvest dishes with a twist on these beautiful pages makes all the difference. It just hits different cooking dinner with a beautiful book and inspiring image on your countertop rather than on your tiny iPhone that you have to unlock every 10 seconds with dirty hands because the screen just has to go black when you’re mid cooking haha. Tieghan is also a beautiful photographer (and videographer!!) and food stylist so this cookbook will not disappoint with its delicious recipes and beautifully inspiring accompanying images!!

So many Great recipes!
I have only had this cookbook a handful of days, yet everything I have made from it has been spectacular! Tonight was Coq au Vin blanc meatballs- so much richness of flavors. Made a simple side salad to go with it and we were all full and very satisfied and enjoyed it immensely. Made sheet pan French toast yesterday, and even my husband, who is limiting his carbs, enjoyed it greatly. Did the double apple durch baby for a dessert a couple of nights ago, and it was almost crepe like in its delicacy and so flavorful. First day I received this book, I made the saucy garlic peanut noodles. Talk about delicious! Even my grand child, who normally likes basic stuff, said it was very good. I really like her ingredients- such as raw honey and maple syrup in place of sugar. ( small amounts used of them ) and the use of veggies and combinations. ( case in point, the peanut noodles ). She explains that if you don't have a certain ingredient, you can easily substitute it. But most ingredients used are what people have on hand in their pantry or fridge. I really am enjoying her recipes thus far and so is my family. I am even thinking of getting a couple of extra copies as gifts!
