Slightly different use for hanging water bowl from a tree
I use this to provide water for birds year round. I set a 9 inch ceramic bowl inside the hexagonal seed feeder during summer, and switch to a metal cake pan in the winter. Toss in some rocks to use as perches. The hole at top of the chain hanger fits onto a separately purchased 18" long steel extension s-hook to hang off of a tree branch. It's more stable than a shepherds hook. I don't need the plastic water bowl, but it is useful as a plant saucer.

Perfect Hanging Bird Feed Tray!
These plastic hanging trays are perfect. They are great for the value. They’ve held up in the Florida sun and heat and no signs of damage or cracks. They hang nicely on my hook stands and the chain is the perfect length. They hold a good amount of seed as well. These are great for attracting the larger birds- Blue jays, Catbirds, a Cardinals. The little birds like Titmice and Pine Warblers love these too!

Made of plastic and the chain is a good metal , but that's okay cause the bird's are only worried about the food in it , light weight and easy to hang .
