I bought the SERVD Friends Edition party game because we do a lot of game nights with close friends, and I wanted something that was light, funny and easy to pick up without having to explain endless rules. I had heard that this one mixes real life challenges with card based dares, so I was curious to see whether it was just a gimmick or actually fun. It ended up being one of the highlights of our last couple of gatherings. The cards are brilliantly written. They are the kind of prompts that get everyone laughing because they relate to actual day to day situations you all recognise. Some are harmless and funny, others force you to step outside your comfort zone just enough to make things entertaining. What I really like is that the game encourages interaction without feeling forced. Within ten minutes people were already trying to play cards on each other and getting competitive in a fun way. It is also incredibly easy to set up. No long instructions, no complicated scoring system, you basically decide your starting rules and off you go. That makes it perfect when friends come over and you want something social rather than a heavy board game. We played it alongside drinks and snacks and it blended into the evening really naturally. What makes my opinion useful is that this game has already been played across two different game nights with two very different groups. Both loved it. It works well with people you know very well, but also with newer friends because the prompts break the ice without being awkward. It also holds up on replays because you never use the cards in the same way twice. If you want a party game that gets everyone laughing, interacting and occasionally stitching each other up in a harmless way, the SERVD Friends Edition has been a fantastic pick. Excellent fun 😆 especially over a long weekend!
This is a really fun, simple to play and original party game - that's perfect for bigger groups (up to 10 people) but works for two players too. It's a little spicy in places so definitely for late-teens (17+) The game itself is excellent quality, exactly what I'd expect from Hasbro. The design is bold and eye catching. The printing of the cards and instructions is perfect, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow, explaining how to customize the game depending on whether you're playing as a two or a group of 3+ people. The game is all about spontaneous fun, and I do think it's ideally played over a long period of time such as a weekend - it does work as a quick game but it does somewhat remove the element of surprise. The challenges are many and varied, with some being quick while others last a longer period of time... you need to keep your wits about you to remember what challenges are still in play. It's definitely a recipe for hilarity! In addition to challenges you have a variety of 'stopper' cards that can keep you out of a challenge you don't want to do, but they're limited in number so you need to use them wisely. Overall, for the quality of the product, the ease of use and the fun that you can have from playing, I think this is excellent value - Hasbro has done it again, a great party game for small or big groups (but make sure everyone's old enough to enjoy the fun 😊)
