I recently put the Hydro Flask coffee mug 6 Oz to the test to see how well it keeps beverages hot. Starting with a cold mug, I poured in 6 oz of hot water and used a digital thermometer to take readings every 15 minutes. Right off the bat, I was impressed by the sleek design and comfortable grip. The lid seals well, preventing any spills, which is a big plus. Testing Results: At the start, the temperature was a solid **182°F**. Here’s how it measured over time: - 0 minutes: 182°F - 15 minutes: 169°F (drop of 13°F) - 30 minutes: 162°F (drop of 7°F) - 45 minutes: 155°F (drop of 7°F) - 60 minutes: 148°F (drop of 7°F) - 75 minutes: 142°F (drop of 6°F) - 90 minutes: 138°F (drop of 4°F) - 105 minutes: 133°F (drop of 5°F) - 120 minutes: 129°F (drop of 4°F) Performance Analysis: The mug did a fantastic job of keeping the coffee warm. After an hour, it was still at 148°F, which is above the typical industry standard of 140°F. Even after 120 minutes, it held steady at 129°F, making for a pleasant drinking experience. Overall, I think the Hydro Flask coffee mug is a great choice for anyone who likes their drinks hot for a couple of hours. However, if you're looking for something that will keep your coffee piping hot for several hours, this might not be the best option. Comfortable to hold, keeps coffee hot for a couple hours
This is a review of Hydro Flask Stainless Steel Reusable Mug - Vacuum Insulated, BPA-Free, Non-Toxic I really love this 12 ounce Hydro flask insulated mug. The coating of the outside of the mug is kind of soft feeling and when you put it on a hard surface it doesn't clink like something that would just be plain metal. I also like the way that the spout opens and closes on the top. Although the spout cover is not leak proof, that doesn't bother me because this is a coffee mug, and I don't normally place a coffee mug on its side. I also like the rounded handle which is very comfortable to put my fingers through and whether you put two or three fingers through it then you can use your little finger or second finger to sort of go underneath it and support the mug. My only minor issue is that they recommend that you hand wash this and I think that's probably to protect the finish on the mug. I really like the look of the mug and I don't want to risk it so I will hand wash this, and that's not that big of a deal. My Ninja coffee make brews coffee at 177°. I've measured the temperature using a digital thermometer and an hour later the mug still keeps my coffee about 150 to 155°. An hour after that it's still warm enough to be comfortable drinking but not what I would call tepid. So this basically keeps my coffee hot for two hours which is awesome. I like the different colors that this is available in. I think it's a solid purchase.
