Customer reviews

Helpful when it comes to relaxing - Can be a good addition to your insomnia arsenal
I waited before leaving a review, b/c I wanted to try this out for awhile first. I've had this for approximately 3/4 months now. You know, I have always noticed that they put weighted things over you at the dentist's office, etc (weighted padding) & I get it. I do feel more relaxed when they do this & didn't know why for a long time. It helps with the release of the hormone oxytocin & the neurotransmitter serotonin. These are both very calming & inhibitory (they are synergistic together) and quite helpful if you have anxiety, etc. I am around 130 lbs, so i purchased the 15lb twin size (it has a weight guide on here) ...I didn't really care about how it looked b/c I was trying it out (and i'm the only one using it, not my husband) - With these factors in mind, this was the best price I found. (always shop around, b/c it changes on amazon alot & know what you are looking for) - but I wasn't willing to dole out 50 bucks or more for something that I may not use, yet i didn't want it to fall apart after a few uses either. This one is very solid for the price. I have found this very helpful for relaxation. It has not cured insomnia for me, but it helps me to relax so I can move toward the sleep phase. In this regard, it's a very helpful aid for "relaxation". I wrap myself up in it and use a calming mind app..Again, very helpful. I take some natural supplements too, but I feel all that all of these components work together to induce sleep and I have actually been getting a full night's of sleep here & there. (due know, i was also on benzo's for years as a sleep aid) - I might have more issues with insomina b/c of that. (you may only need the blanket to lull off) When i got off of benzos, it seemed to exasperate my insomnia, so I needed some natural tools; i've had a long history and battle when it comes to insomnia) I may not get a full night every night, but I'm much closer to a regular pattern than I have ever been since ditching benzos. A good weighted blanket has been helpful for me in this regard. Whatever is in it is very granular, so i don't feel any beads or anything..it reminds me of how a stress ball would feel...(squishy)...The material has held up fine after using this nightly for months and i do not get over heated. It probably helps with overall circulation too. (in being that it's weighted all over) I really recommend this if you have anxiety or issues with relaxation/insomnia. One of my kids keeps trying to snatch if from me, so I'm going to get another one for him. (preteen boy with adhd/anxiety too) To recap: a weighted blanked helps to relax you by inducing BOTH the hormone oxytocin & the neurotransmitter serotonin. (Research it); make sure you get the right weight for your body weight. (if you try it out) - 20lbs would have been too heavy for me (smothering maybe)..15lbs is definitely ideal for my body weight, b/c it feels heavier than it sounds. I was kind of surprised at how heavy 15lbs felt.

LOVE THIS THING! BOUGHT 4 OF THEM!
I bought one of these weighted blankets for myself. I have always wanted to try one and the price was right to do just that. I ordered one and really loved it after a few nights of good sleep. I should mention that I have never slept really well and generally after 3 hours, I am wide awake and unable to get back to sleep for a an hour or two and then only to doze (off and on), until time to get up. Soooo, my first few nights of sleep were amazing. I bought 4 more blankets for gifts - for family members including my husband who wanted to try it (and I wasn't willing to give mine up even for a night). After a week or two, I started having trouble - sweating and being too hot. The blanket itself does not hold the heat - it was totally me, but I was unable to get back to sleep. UGH! So, I quit using it. (A short time later figured out that it was likely a hormonal issue and once that was figured out, I went back to using my blanket and sleeping well) I still wake up after 3 hours, but I can get back to sleep fairly easy. I don't want to get out of bed in the morning, because it feels so good to under the coziness of the weighted blanket. I believe I am getting at least another hour or two of sleep because of this blanket. I gave the other blankets to my mom, my daughter and my husband. Husband kind of hated it. He said it was too heavy and he felt too confined. He refused to give it more than two nights, so I think his opinion is somewhat subjective. My mom liked hers the first couple of nights and then also felt that it was a little heavy. But, after a few nights without it, she went back to using it and now really likes it. She feels that it was just an adjustment period to get used to it. (It should be noted that 15 lbs was the appropriate weight for all three of us.) My adult daughter didn't really like hers (and it also may have been a little too heavy for her as she is smaller and would likely do better with 10 or 12 lbs) However, her husband loved it, so he is keeping it!! The bottom line is that you should not give up on it after trying it for only a few nights. Give it a bit more time, even if you have to take an night or two off in between. I think you will find that you will sleep better. I do have to keep the heat in the house around 67-68 or it does get to hot for me, but it is very comfortable at that temp. Also, some of the reviews mentioned leakage of the beads. None of the blankets we received have showed any signs of that to my knowledge. Mine stays on my bed, above the top sheet and under the blanket. It goes nowhere else - though I did take it on a trip for one overnight stay while visiting relatives. I have had it a few months now and no sign of any beads leaking or unevenness noted. It will go with me when I travel as I now don't want to be without it!

Wonderful therapy. And some advice on weight.
Excellent quality. I really like the design of this particular blanket vs. other weighted blankets available on Amazon--the small diamond stitch pattern keeps the weight very well distributed, and the fabric is a smooth, quality cotton. It is true to size, and exactly covers the top of our queen bed. (It is designed not to hang over the edges, so as not to pin you in place.) This was our first time using a weighted blanket, and my husband and I both slept noticeably better immediately. My husband has not slept straight through the night for several years, but he did the first night we used this. I found I was sleeping deeper and was less anxious. Also, we both tend to be cold at night, but this made us feel much warmer, without overheating. The only thing we didn't like about our purchase was the weight. In our case, it was way too heavy. My husband is a big guy, over 200 lbs, so we went with the 25 lbs. blanket. I've since read that the ideal is about 7-12% of your body weight, and I would suggest that people who have any sort of painful condition (hubby has a stiff shoulder, me a sore back) err on the lighter side. The blanket was so heavy that we did very little tossing or turning or even moving, so we'd often wake up with sore or "asleep" limbs. In spite of that, we STILL slept far better than we did prior to the blanket, and when we left it off the bed for a few nights because we were waking up stiff, we both slept horribly! We ended up going with a lighter weight model and that is working even better for us. Also, I'm not sure how easy it'd be to launder that 25 pounder! Be aware that this ships from China so you may be waiting a couple weeks for it to arrive, but these are a good value for the money.

Best blanket that I ever have!
This blanket was recommended to me by a friend who has owned one for a while and I’m so glad that I decided to get one for myself because I absolutely love it! Admittedly it took a night or two for me to get used to the weight. Having a 15-pound of weight evenly distributed on top of me all through the night was a bizarre feeling at first. On the succeeding nights, that’s when I noticed the benefits of using it. I've been sleeping under it for a few weeks now, and I can tell you that it has helped me fall asleep faster, wake up less frequently throughout the night, and feel more rested during the day. The blanket itself is well made in a soft cotton material. It has small diamond pockets that prevent the weighted beads from dispersing unevenly. The size that I got is 48’ x 72’, which is the size of a larger throw blanket, smaller than the queen size blanket that I am used to, but large enough to span your bed as a normal blanket rather than only personal-sized. All in all, the Hypnoser weighted blanket is a great option because it is breathable and evenly weighted. The quality seems to be excellent. The cover feels so good to the touch and the sewing on the blanket segments and pockets seems secure. I am very pleased with this purchase - It has markedly improved the quality of my sleep. I can say that this blanket is something that has made me look forward to going to bed at night after a long, tiring day. I will be buying again because of its quality and competitive price.
