Very good quality - nice gift idea!
This was a *very needed-for-my-sanity* addition to my desk top… I was sick of notifications for reminders constantly popping up on my phone!! Heck, I was sick of putting reminders in my phone!😵💫 This calendar has ample room to write multiple notes for each day, as well as general notes for the month off to the side. As a retired senior, there’s no lack of doctor appointments and activities with the kids and grandkids to keep track of, LOL…🤪 I use the side area for shopping notes and ideas. I can stash private mail or even a bit of cash between the tablet and mat if someone comes in. ( I always expect the building super to be nosey, plus I pay him cash for doing stuff on the side - it is NYC haha…) This calendar and mat shipped to me rolled up which was a little alarming, but it laid flat and smoothed out in no time. The mat is a nice-quality faux leather, and the smooth-textured paper is thick and durable - I’ve used ribboned white-out on it without issue, and ink does not smear at all. While it fondly reminds me of the old-style blotter calendars I remember always being on my Dad’s desk, this definitely has a more modern vibe to it. The only things that could improve this calendar set are: 1.) have more *blank* space on the glued edge of the calendar tablet, as the current design requires the whole pad to be removed from the mat to write notes in the first (Sunday) column on the next page(s). Yes, actually I DO plan and schedule things MONTHS ahead -including on Sundays-, hence my caustic remark about phone reminders.😛 And 2.) white paper as an option vs the somewhat yellowish-beige shade it came in. I like to keep my colored desk lighting in the warm/rose spectrum, and this heightens the yellow tint of the paper. Not a deal breaker for my feng shui, but if I had the *option* I’d choose white. I think this would make a thoughtful and inexpensive gift for the desk of any student, retiree or teacher, and it comes in suitable colors for anyone. Highly recommend!👍🏻
