Great bird feeder
I love leaving food out for the birds (and squirrels, like it or not) but have been so frustrated with the design of the tube bird feeders out there. I prefer them to the feeders that spill the seed onto a platform because when a squirrel assaults them, the feeder swings to the side and all the seed spills out (much to the squirrel's delight). Tube feeders are not immune to that but because the openings are smaller, less seed spills out during squirrel attacks. This feeder helps with that problem by providing both a baffle and a spring construction that seeks to close the feeder holes if a squirrel climbs on it. I have just started using the feeder and so far have not witnessed a squirrel offensive attack but I am hopeful that it will operate as described. Although, knowing squirrels, I suspect they may bribe a bird or two to grab some seed and give it to them. Manipulative little devils. On an aesthetic note, the feeder is beautiful - at least in the color I got. I haven't seen it in the other color choices. I ordered it in the antique copper and it is very pretty. It also holds a nice amount of birdseed - 3 lbs. - for me not too much, not too little. It is very easy to open the top and fill it as well. And now for the deal maker for me and the thing that may well end my frustration for tube feeders. I don't know who designs these bird feeders but almost none of them come apart for cleaning. I love the way many of them advertise themselves as being "easy to clean" when, without being able to remove the bottom, cleaning that part of the tube is darn near impossible. After a big rainstorm (which we get a lot of here) the seed in the bottom invariably gets wet and then becomes moldy very quickly which, obviously, is very bad for the health of the birds. I have tried everything I could think of from long brushes to jet shooting water in them, but I can't get them completely clean - which means that I end up discarding them after a while and buying new ones. Apparently, this designer is one of the few designers in the world who realizes that this happens. The bottom of this feeder easily comes completely off so one can clean it with no problem. Now for my only criticism - the design of the perches. The perches themselves are great - the birds have no problem using them but, for some reason - possibly for storage purposes - they fold up. If a bird bumps into them the wrong way, they will fold up and can't be used until I go out there and fold them back down again. So far every day or two one of the perches will be pushed up when I go to look at the feeder in the morning. It has never been more than one but that is one less perch available for a hungry bird. I am still very happy with the feeder and will certainly be buying more of them in the future as I observe how they hold up over long use. I highly recommend.

Birds love it, squirrels hate it
I used to have issues with the neighborhood squirrels eating all the bird feed, but no more! Since I’ve upgraded my feeder to this one from a plastic yurt-looking one, the neighborhood squirrels have been getting all their free meals at the neighbors’ yurt-looking bird feeder. I currently have 4 birds sitting on the perches feeding. They seem to have no problems eating and keep coming back for more. I like the build, quality, and size. Initially, I thought it was large and somewhat longer compared to what I previously had, but I don’t mind it now and there’s less refilling since I don’t have a squirrel eating or knocking all the food to the ground. It’s also a bit more pricey, but my last squirrel feeder, I mean bird feeder, was actually falling apart because the fat squirrels broke part of its plastic perch and the plastic latch used to close the top of the feeder by hanging on for so long. I read so many reviews on squirrel-proof feeders and I’m happy to say this has worked great & has deterred the squirrels from even attempting to stop by for a snack. It’s like the smart, furry cute rats already know. To address another review, I haven’t noticed any rust developing, but I don’t live in a very humid climate either. Lastly, my only issue is — it’s shiny & nice looking and I was very worried someone might try to steal it, but so far it’s remained & I hope the demand for bird feeders stays low.

One of the best feeders I have ever bought
This feeder has been very well thought out. The cover cap keeps rain out extremely well, but the little buttons release it far easier than any of the others I have bought. The collar also serves to keep rain out of the feeding holes, although birds take a while to get used to this design. Squirrels are a constant problem and the picture shows a collar on the feeder stand which does keep most squirrels off. This feeder has a spring loaded cover which prevents squirrels from getting at the feed even if they manage to jump onto the feeder from a distance. There is a removable base which also makes cleaning a lot easier as it simply unplugs. There is a square hole in the tube and feed can get lodged in this so it stops appearing at the base. You need a long screwdriver to poke it through, or use a feed mix that is mainly very small (like sunflower seed). This is expensive compared to many feeders, but is so much better, I would thoroughly recommend it.

Good lookin’ and no squirrel or rain hassles
Shopped around before buying this. It’s got *all* the right features plus it’s beautiful to look at and super easy to fill. 1) Perfectly squirrel-proof (but those buggers still try) due to full length spring loading. Any squirrel weight from the top down, not just the perches, closes the feed ports. 2) The optional baffle keeps a lot of the rain off the feeding holes so the seed stays dryer and doesn’t need any periodic clean-outs to take out soggy or sprouted seed. 3) It’s well made and has a stout construction, plus an elegant & thorough enamel paint finish. (Might be the industrial, fused powder-coated type of paint.) And it’s very easy to put the baffle on (no tools); it stays put nicely, and the rest of the feeder comes pre-assembled. 4) Priced right!
