If a recommendation is made to a product, it is because it has met its intended purpose or is genuinely impressive. Conversely, items that fail to meet expectations will be reviewed with equal honesty and transparency. Pro, +simple and elegant design +decent taste +better than drip and other simple ones. Cons, -require a bit of work -doesn't taste as good as more expensive units, but still not bad Overall, 5/5. We are not new to making fancy coffee at home, but with how expensive café drinks are and how old our current machine is, we decided to try this one. First off—keep your expectations realistic. It’s not going to match a coffee shop’s espresso or cappuccino, but those machines cost a fortune, so that’s understandable. My first cup wasn’t great, but after following the instructions and doing some research, things improved quickly. The drinks aren’t perfect, but they’re pretty good. It felt a little intimidating at first, but the more we used it, the easier it became. Cleaning is a bit more involved than a regular coffee maker, and removing the grounds from the filter is probably the hardest part. Still, we remind ourselves how much money we have saved by getting espresso every weekday; this machine pays for itself in a couple of months. The machine looks nice on the counter, doesn’t take up much space, and while some parts are plastic, the important pieces are metal. Overall, it’s a great choice for beginners, budget-conscious people, or anyone with limited counter space. Just go in with realistic expectations, and you’ll be satisfied.

Good little espresso machine
I'm new to making fancy coffees, but given the price of buying them, I thought I would give this machine a try. The first thing I want to say is that you have to have reasonable expectations. A machine at this price point is not going to make espresso, cappuccino, etc that is as good as somethng made at a coffee shop. Their machines are incredibly expensive! That being said, this machine isn't bad. Being new to this, I followed the instructions and my first cup wasn't very good, but I kept at it and did a little research. My drinks got much better very quickly. They are not as good as something I buy, but they aren't bad either. It is a little bit intimidating to start, but the more you use the machine, the more you will understand how it all works. Cleaning it is definitely a bit more complicated than a regular coffee maker, but it's not particularly hard. Getting the gounds out of the filter is probably the hardest part. I just keep reminding myself of all the money I am saving by making my own coffee drinks. If you are stopping for a double shot espresso Mon-Fri, this machine will pay for itself in about 8-9 weeks! Anyway, the machine itself is very nice. It does have some silver painted plastic pieces on the facia, but at this price point, I wasn't expecting a totally metal machine. All of the actual working parts are metal though. It has a relatively small footprint which is awesome. It looks very nice on my counter, and it isn't taking up too much counter realestate either. It looks pretty fancy schmancy. LOL Overall, I am pleased with this espresso machine, and I would definitely recommend it for beginners, somebody who doesn't want to shell out a small fortune,or for people who don't have a lot of extra counterspace. Just keep your expectations reasonable and you will be happy with this little espresso machine.

Very good quality. Works well.
I am a first-time user of an espresso maker but I absolutely love this machine. I will say it took me a few reads before I knew how to clean and use, for the best cup. There are two things in its manual that I have a problem with. The first is that it is not actually a grounded plug, it is only a two-prong plug. The second is that even though it tells you how to use the milk steamer it isn't clear about whether you put it in the milk or not, and I made a huge mess the first time. I recommend finding an online video for how to use the milk frothier. The metal filters for the grounds pop in and out, and I highly recommend using the counter to press against instead of your palm. I ended up with a really bad blood blister trying to pop the single cup filter in. The machine itself is very good looking and works well (once you get the hang of it). It's almost a commercial quality. Heavy duty and made mostly of metal.
