Read this if you aren't a Pen Connoisseur —
By no means am I familiar with high quality pens, nor do I pretend to be. With that being said, I work in an office setting and had been considering for quite some time that it would be beneficial to invest in a nice pen (not just the cheap pens that lie around the office that make my penmanship look like that of a school kid). One day as I was signing paperwork with one of my clients and he proceeds to pull out a cool looking pen that wrote exceptionally well. I had to ask him what kind of pen he carried with him. His response — "its a Lamy. I take it with me everywhere." Next thing you know, I'm ordering my first fountain pen off of Amazon and thus far I am very pleased with my investment. The pen is equipped with a blue ink cartridge, which is nice to have, but I immediately switched it to black. I'm not sure how long each cartridge is meant to last, so I will need to update this review with time. With that being said, I do use my pens pretty heavily, so I'm happy to have gone with the 5 black ink cartridges option. I see plenty of reviews from those with much more experience than I when it comes to pens. In case, like me, you are the layperson simply looking for a better pen — then take it from me.. buy the pen.

Pen Review
Update: I really enjoy using this pen. Though the pen came blue ink, the cartridges that came with it are all black. I’m changing it from 4 to 5 stars. I truly love this pen. I recently purchased this pen to help me with learning cursive writing, and overall, I’m quite pleased with it. The pen definitely supports my cursive practice, though it does take some getting used to. I realize I’ll need more practice to feel completely comfortable with it, but I’m confident that with time it will make a real difference in improving my handwriting. One small surprise was the ink color. I had ordered black ink, but the pen came with blue ink instead, which is why it is receiving 4 stars instead of 5. Regardless, the ink writes smoothly, and I find the pen enjoyable to use. Overall, I think this pen will be tremendously helpful for my cursive handwriting journey. While there’s still an adjustment period, I’m happy with my purchase and look forward to seeing my handwriting improve over time.

Great Quality
This was my first fountain pen. I wanted it for urban sketching. I like the medium nib, but it a bit thicker than I expected. It’s fine though because it definitely is needed. I have purchased a couple other fountain pens with different nibs , but this one is the smoothest. I really like the feel of the pen in my hand. The weight is perfect. I also bought different ink along with a converter. I needed water proof ink. It was very easy to load the pen with the ink and converter.

This pen is a great starter fountain ink pen! It writes incredibly smooth and the ink it comes with write very well. I’m a fan of how light the pen is and its size. It’s been worth every penny. The cartridges are very easy to swap out when ink is runs out. Also the safari comes with notches to help index the pen learning how to write with it. It’s a good design feature and makes it very functional!
