Excellent Product Delivered With Care
I was looking for an affordable, sturdy, nice looking bag for carrying around the things that I like to always have with me. It needed to be a little bit older than my old bag, and I wanted leather if I could manage it. This looked like the sort of thing I wanted, and the extra height over a lot of other bags designed to fit a tablet was part of what swayed me to this bag. It arrived faster than expected, and it was beautifully wrapped within the box in a very prettily patterned bag. The packaging generally showed great care, and on inspection, so did the workmanship. The stitching looks and feels nice, and the buckles all work well. I appreciated that there was metal reinforcement on the buckle straps. I loaded it up with all my stuff, and I was very pleased with how easily everything fit: iPad, external battery, notebook, folding fan, medicine bag (with an inhaler and a few other things), and a pen all went into the front compartment with plenty of room on top. I can plug in the iPad to the external battery while in the bag without worrying about closing the top and knocking the power cord loose (a problem that I had with my old bag). There's also enough room to settle my decent sized folding over ear headphones at the top of the bag, though it does make the top bulge a little bit (it still closes securely). I think that my favorite part is the little front pocket that is the perfect if slightly tight fit for my wallet which means I can tap my bus card without having to dig out my wallet (nobody's getting the wallet out of there without my noticing though, it's snug enough that it takes some practice getting it in and out). Right now the leather is a little bit lighter than as pictured, but places where it rubs against things the most, the final color that it will weather to is already starting to come through. Even without the weathering, it's a lovely bag, though a few shades lighter than I might have chosen, but I really look forward to seeing the color and gloss that it gains with a bit of weathering. I love the feel of the goat leather, and the canvas lining is good quality (though I wouldn't put a tablet against it without a screen protector of some sort). It smells properly of leather right now, though I know that the smell will lessen over time. It might be a bit overwhelming if you don't like the smell of new leather or aren't used to it, but to me, it's a lovely smell that shows the quality.

Wonderful quality - You can tell a lot of thought went into this bag.
I spent quite a while looking for the right purse. I hate cheap bags that don't last very long and you have to look for a new one all over again when something on it breaks or wears down. I honestly don't carry that much with me and when a purse of mine is out of commission I just carry my phone, keys, and wallet on my person rather than taking the trouble to look for another bag. This time looking (since we're moving out of jacket season and for some reason women's clothing still don't have pockets in things...) I narrowed down my search to two bags, only to realize that out of the hundreds I looked at the final two were both from the same designer. This satchel is perfect because I don't carry a lot with me but when I do it's like journals or scriptures/books. It has enough pockets and zippers that it's versatile but it's not so bulky that you'll lose all of your stuff in it, so I picked this one. It shipped really fast (in two days). Also the quality of the bag is wonderful - you can just tell it's going to last forever. Double rivets for reinforced straps. Sturdy but soft leather. I love that it has the clasps under the straps so you don't have to buckle it to close it and then unbuckle when you need to get things fast (although I wish the small pocket in the front had the same clasp to get into easy, but there's an easily-accessible zipper pocket on the outside on the back for quick access to things). Most of the bag has double stitching. I mostly knew how much thought went into this bag because of the little details: a pad on the shoulder strap to make sure it's extra comfy, an extra piece on the shoulder strap to make sure the extra leather doesn't flap around, etc. This was a very well thought out bag, and I'm so happy I picked this one. It will be perfect for me. It does have a slight leather smell, but it's not very strong and I know it will fade quickly. It also was lighter than pictured, but I've heard from other reviews (and from the personal note from the seller) that it will automatically darken over time, and I could condition it for a quicker darkening result. Outstanding, practical, handcrafted product!
Outstanding! This is an exceptional, handcrafted product in the finest tradition of handcrafted leather. It is made with high quality leather and metal buckles and artisan seamstry of the stiching. It has a rich leather smell that the care instructions says will fade over time. It comes in a beautiful drawstring cloth bag. It has a large shoulder pad on the chest/shoulder strap, a concern I saw expressed in questions. On the outside it comes with a small buckled pocket that is a perfect size for my metal credit card/ID case. Above this smaller pocket is a wide deep zippered pocket for easy access to Passport, tickets, documents, writing pad etc. On the opposite outside is a slighly wider and deeper zippered pocket. Inside are two pouches the width and depth of the case. One larger than the other. In the larger my iPad Air2 with Otterbox Defender case fits snugly with room at the edges to put my wrapped 10 ft recharging cord. The second pocket is so deep it swallows my iPhone 7Plus with Otterbox Defender case with inches to spare. Again, room for recharge cord and plug too. Finally there is a zippered pocket inside bigger than those outside. This zippered pocket swallows my iphone more completely. The bag can hold a lot of stuff! I can not speak to its usefulness as a book bag since I only use ebooks now. One or two medium thick textbooks or a couple of thick paperback perhaps. But it really seems designed for tablets, phones, their accessories and documents for business or travel. I am really pleased with this bag and feel it is a great value for the cost.

Mans Messenger Satchel Bag -Perfect for airline travel or CCW
The craftmanship of this stands out.. after you remove it from the stiched linen carry bag that is included to keep it protected when not in use. Yes, even the linen bag exudes quality. My wife gave me this for my birthday as she said I’m disorganised when I fly. I responded that’s because she carries a handbag and I have to stuff tickets passports etc in my pockets. Living in SoCa means I’m not wearing a jacket, so storage is limited. This bag has deep pockets, hidden pockets, the leather is supple but thick. I use an Amazon Fire or an iPad, both fit comfortably. The stitching is the kind you only find on hand made leather that is meant to be “Used”. This is not some kind of metrosexual man bag. It’s rugged, very well made and the smell, it’s like the smell of a tack room when your putting away saddles, I happen to really like the smell of it. The bag is also perfect for concealed carry (when I’m not flying). Because of our climate, venue, situation, it’s sometimes preferable not to wear a shoulder rig and an overshirt. My SW M&P 9 fits nicely in the bag (along with the tablet in the back pocket), plenty of room for the spare clip. If you’d asked me before, I’d probably not have been keen on a “Satchel”. Having recieved this and tried it out, it really does solve a lot of logistical problems for me. The company who make these obviously put a lot of effort into creating a very well made piece of equipment for any discening gentlemen. I rarely write reviews but feel that it was merited in this case.
