Customer reviews

One of the best Lego sets in years.
It's the first TIE Bomber build since the original in 2003, and unlike other modern Lego remakes, it's just about equivalent to the original's size. It's a much more accurate and substantial build that the original, with much better minifigures to boot. It also comes with ZERO stickers. If there was one complaint you could have, the play features aren't that special. The original TIE Bomber had one of those large spring loaded shooters with the long rubber tipped projectile. This one doesn't have that, for the sake of build accuracy. It has a, in my opinion, better bomb dropping function, though it does technically drop less. Also, it has stud shooters. Unlike other builds, the stud shooters blend in really well in the build. The weird thing? They're not at all where the guns on the actual TIE Bomber is (which are in the build, but are just a couple small pieces with no functionality). For the price, some actual spring loaded shooters underneath the cockpit would have been nice. Probably not even a consideration for anybody besides little kids. TIE Fighter Pilot has a massive gap in the back of his helmet, too. With the flesh colored head it's kind of distracting, I just replaced the flesh head with a black head. Vice Admiral Sloane is a nice figure, don't know much about the character, but I wish she came with an Imperial Officer Cap that you could swap with her hairpiece. For the price, I feel like they could have included an Imperial Technician or Ground Crew figure to load the bombs and drive the little flatbed, but these are all minor complaints. It's great seeing a 20+ year old set finally get a remake, and having it be definitively better than the original with basically zero compromise except for like one play feature. As with all Lego sets, the price is steep. At a discount, it's amazing.

Perfect for Star Wars and LEGO fans
My son is absolutely obsessed with both LEGO and Star Wars, so this was a total win. Arrived quickly, all official LEGO pieces, and the build quality was exactly what you’d expect from LEGO. He had a great time putting it together and was excited to display it afterward. Honestly, my biggest problem now is trying to keep him from taking it to school to show all his friends. If your kid is into Star Wars, this is an easy gift idea.
