Refurbished is worth it.
It came packaged nicely. It came with a charging cord (no brick). Looks brand new, I couldn’t tell the difference. It also gave me the 3 months of free kindle unlimited when setting up the kindle. I wasn’t expecting that since I wasn’t purchasing it new, so that was a pleasant surprise. It works great! I’ve had no issues so far and I’m really enjoying using it. The power button is on the bottom next to the charging port! I thought I wouldn’t like this, but the button is actually kind of stiff. You have to intentionally push on it, so if you’re worried about accidentally pushing it, I wouldn’t worry about that. I like the auto adjust feature on the brightness, but you can turn it off if you don’t want it. You can adjust the amount of yellow on the screen. I charged it a few days ago and it’s still at 84%. So the battery seems to last for a while. Also, if you double tap the sides or the back, it will turn the page for you! It even registers through my case. Anyways, definitely recommend getting the refurbished to save some money. Worth it.

Love this Kindle
I love this Kindle. It replaced a 7 year old Paperwhite for which I got a generous trade in allowance from Amazon. The biggest problem with the old Kindle was that was excruciatingly slow for any interaction besides page turns. This Kindle is radically faster, with experience comparable to a tablet. It has other advantages, e.g. the screen is super sharp and clear. Auto brightness adjustment works quite well. I got a certified refurbished device and it was indeed indistinguishable from new, as advertised. I had the same positive experience with the certified refurbished Eco Show. There is one minor annoyance: the font for dictionary lookups is too small. It can only be changed by switching the global device level setting to Large but if you do, the font becomes way too big. If you want to use wireless charging with a third party case, be sure that the case explicitly mentions support for this feature. I bought a case that didn’t state this support and Rufus query stated that it should but alas, it doesn’t.

Wie neu & absolut empfehlenswert! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ich habe mich bewusst für ein von Amazon selbst refurbished Kindle entschieden und ich bin begeistert! Das Gerät sieht komplett neu aus, keine Kratzer, keine Gebrauchsspuren, einfach top verarbeitet. Auch technisch funktioniert alles einwandfrei: Der Bildschirm ist gestochen scharf, der Akku hält super lange und das Blättern geht schnell und flüssig. Man merkt nicht, dass das Kindle (eventuell) schon einmal in Gebrauch war; im Gegenteil: Es wirkt, als käme es direkt frisch aus der Verpackung. Dazu kommt noch der Vorteil, dass man ein bisschen Geld spart und gleichzeitig etwas nachhaltiger kauft. 💸 Ich würde mich jederzeit wieder für ein refurbished Gerät von Amazon entscheiden. Absolute Empfehlung für alle, die ein hochwertiges Kindle suchen zum besseren Preis!

Close to Brand New
My Paperwhite that I received was pretty indistinguishable from brand new. No scratches or damage. I’ve had it for almost 3 weeks and I use it every day. I love the big screen and the auto-adjust for brightness is pretty spot-on. The warmth adjustment is nice for reading at night which is one of the reasons why I got the Paperwhite. It could easily go a month without charging. I think going refurbished was a great way to save money but still get a nice Kindle. I held off on getting an ereader for a long time but I’ve been reading some longer books recently and this is way more comfortable to hold for long periods.
