Works GREAT on stovetop!
***UPDATE after 2 years of regular use - July 2025*** I continue to love and highly recommend this Lodge 10" dual handle skillet for stovetop use. I use it very regularly since it is the perfect size for my family. Although the surface was pretty smooth when it was brand new, it has become slick and very smooth now after 2 years of use. If frying an egg for example, very little oil (about 1/4 tsp.) and a brush to spread it around is all that is needed. The lightness of this pan compared to the Lodge 10" skillet with 1 handle is definitely a bonus since it makes moving the pan around when full a breeze. ***Original review - July 2023*** I was looking for a Lodge 10" skillet with 2 small handles like this one instead of the traditional 1 longer handle - which I also have but will be giving to my daughter. So when I found this one, it looked perfect. My only doubt was that it was named a baker's skillet meaning it is meant only for baking. Some reviews also mentioned the lightness of this skillet when compared to the long handled one. After trying it on my stove several times over the past couple of days, I am happy to say that it behaves EXACTLY the same as the long handled version. I highly recommend this baker's skillet for its quality, lightness, dual handles which make it super easy to use and its size for everyday meals.

This is the PERFECT Baker for Everything!
I already owned the Lodge 10" double handled skillet with the Cast Iron Lid and it is perfect for all my skillet uses as well as serving as a small brazier with the lid. It will bake, but I always thought it was heavier than needed for baking. I saw this "Baker" advertised and immediately noted the lighter weight. After reading the reviews, I ordered this pan along with the "sized" red rubber handle protectors. I am glad I did. Wow, this thing is a baking machine. I have now done about 25 different cornbread recipes worth of cornbreads and this thing is perfect. It takes a 400 - 425 degree preheat with ease and sizzles that batter as I drop my pour. I have scanned the preheated pan with an IR reader and it is perfect from rim to rim and across the center. The weight difference is Wonderful for getting the hot pan in and out of the oven. I have ZERO sticking issues. Preheat it for a pan of drop biscuits or grease it up for a pan of cut biscuits. No hot spots. I did work on the seasoning a bit before my first bakes but only in that I used a can of crisco shortening and layered on a bit more seasoning. You can't go wrong with this one, especially at the price. Get the rubber handle heat protectors for this pan but clip them on AFTER you pull the pan with your mitts. v/r rch

Fry-up forever.
The perfect pan for us dedicated fry-up fanatics. The perfect size, the perfect weight, base is flat as glass for a halogen hob, non-stick out of the box and will fit in any British oven for those who want to season the pan before use and/or after cleaning. It'll outlive you and your Grandchildren absolutely indestructible. For most of us chaps, it's the only pan you'll ever need. Teflon coated 'non-stick' pans are a nasty gimmick, chuck 'em all in the bin and get some proper heavy metal in your life.

Trusty cast iron skillet
This is my favorite skillet. I use it all the time for just about anything. It was very easy to season and it hasn't been a problem keeping it that way over time. It's a nice weight - as expected for a case iron - and it's really great having the handles on the sides rather than one long handle. It feels sturdier when picking it up from the oven, since it's so heavy. This thing is a workhorse. You really can't go wrong with Lodge products and this one is no exception.
