A very welcome updated generation Thump
As a member of an acoustic rock group that plays everything from local festivals and live events to farmers markets, having a reliable PA system is essential for our performances. Our current setup is almost entirely Mackie gear because we have come to trust their durability and sound over the years. We have been using the previous generation Thump 210XT and 212XT speakers paired with a ProFX12v3+ mixer, so we have a very specific baseline for comparison when it comes to the Thump series. The new generation Thump15v4 is a really nice upgrade over the past generation in several meaningful ways. Right out of the box, they are easier to use and the controls on the back panel make much more sense for quick adjustments during a soundcheck. These speakers push harder and louder than the older models while rejecting clipping almost as hard as you can push them. One of the most noticeable improvements is the floor noise. The previous models had a significant amount of that hissing you hear when nothing is even plugged in, to the point where I could not leave them on in my studio when they were not in use. I have had this new model powered up for about a week now and I have not noticed the hiss enough to feel the need to power it off for my sanity. While the noise is not completely gone, it is significantly better than before. In terms of functionality, these can pair together wirelessly if you have two of them, and they do still pair with the previous generation XT models which is great for those of us with older inventory. My only real gripe is a small aesthetic one involving the running man logo. When used as a floor wedge, you used to be able to turn the logo so it was not sitting sideways, but that seems to be fixed in place now. Overall I really like these speakers and I do not think you can beat them for the value. You would likely have to step up to speakers that cost double the price to get a noticeable jump in sound quality and features. Mackie really did a great job with the fourth generation of the Thump line.

A Very Solid High Quality Sound System.
What a great full rich sound this speaker has. So it has 2 built in channels each week there own gain/ volume controls, 4 different voice modes so depending on the sound you want the kind of venue you're playing you can choose the different modes with a push of a button that are labeled like flat mode, DJ mode, flight mode and wedge mode again helping you get that sound that you want from the room you're in. You have a Bluetooth mode which I had a little trouble connecting at first but then I got it worked out it was smooth sailing from there. It also has a feedback eliminator button an outdoor mode and music ducking so if you're DJ and want to make an announcement or whatever just hit that and when you speak into the mic the music lowers so they can hear you speak pretty cool that's built in. You also have an XLR out so you can go to your mixing board with it great for doing live mixings or recordings as well. You could also Bluetooth and pair it with another Mackie speaker I haven't done that yet cuz I only have this one but there's a button for you to be able to do that. This this speaker really delivers some nice full low ends with a nice balanced mix of your highs and mids and this thing can get loud and the beauty of it is that it doesn't lose its clarity the louder it gets. I know some speakers of the size have a tendency to start getting a lot of feedback and static for louder that you get or the more volume it's turned up but this one stays clear and crisp and that bases thumping now I know why they call it the thump. Overall great loudspeaker system everything you need for a one-man show a DJ or just having a party and you want some good music to be heard I would definitely recommend this one I think it's a good value for what you're getting it's a solid system well built and delivers some high quality sound.
