Superb classic family board game
This was my favorite game in the late 70's, early 80's and my brother and I would spend days playing this, with modified loan -sharking rules and extra money from other board games too. Then along came the Sinclair ZX Spectrum and we were finished......Fast forward 30 years and I am glad that we added this to our growing collection of classic board games for us to enjoy as a family. I was not disappointed, as this is exactly the same format as I remember. Obviously the difference from my perspective is that this is the US version (no Old Kent Road vs. Mayfair dilemma) but nevertheless the feel of the set is exactly right. True, this is not like the truly original one I played with once or twice with my friends, who were fortunate enough to have the red and green wooden houses, but then I guess that would have to be called a "vintage" edition these days! Anyhow, for those of you that don't know the game, this is a simply executed, dice-driven, race around the board where players can buy property deeds of varying value, buy and build houses and hotels and then charge rent to those players who land on their squares. Add in the luck cards and the possibility of jail time and don't forget the bidding wars and the ability to mortgage your property to get out of debt or refinance to buy more property. This is a great representation of Capitalism at its best, teaching children the concept of adding and subtracting, how much effect luck has on life, and how to make calculated decisions such as, "do I keep enough cash to survive this round or should I risk it on expanding my empire with the potential to make more money?" Will you be ruthless enough to bankrupt your opponents and win the game or will you settle for the more gentile "timed" version and see who has the most assets after a few hours? The choices are yours... All in all one of great board games of the 20th Century.

Love it
I recently purchased the **Monopoly 1980's Edition**, and it has brought back so many nostalgic memories! From the moment I opened the box, I was instantly transported back to the classic Monopoly game of my childhood. The board, cards, and tokens are all true to the original 1980s design, which adds a **retro charm** to the game. The attention to detail is impressive, from the vintage-style graphics to the iconic metal playing pieces that have that perfect weight and feel. The gameplay itself is, of course, the timeless **Monopoly experience** we all know and love—easy to pick up, with enough strategy to keep every game exciting and competitive. What makes this edition stand out is the nostalgia factor, especially for anyone who grew up in the ‘80s or loves collecting vintage-inspired games. It feels like you’re playing the same game you did decades ago, but with a modern twist in its presentation. What I really appreciate is how **well-made** this version is. The board is sturdy, the cards are high-quality, and even after several game nights, everything still looks brand new. It’s clear that a lot of thought went into recreating this edition for those who want a piece of the past but also expect durability. If you’re a fan of Monopoly or just love retro games, the **Monopoly 1980's Edition** is a must-have. It’s a fun trip down memory lane and a perfect addition to any game night. Highly recommend it for both seasoned Monopoly players and collectors!

Classic Monopoly feel—great nostalgic version
I really loved this 1980’s edition of Monopoly—it brings back that traditional feel of the game. What I liked: • Nostalgic design: Feels like the classic version many of us grew up with • Traditional gameplay: Keeps the original charm without unnecessary changes • Great for family time: Perfect for game nights with all ages • Good quality: Board and pieces are well made and hold up well Things to consider: • If you prefer newer versions with twists, this is more classic and straightforward • Games can still run long (just like the original!) Overall: This is a great pick if you enjoy the traditional style of Monopoly. Fun, nostalgic, and perfect for bringing everyone together.

It’s exactly as I’d hoped
So nice to see a game I recognize since my childhood! Easy to figure out! Around the same price as most board games! Game pieces are like the ones I used as a child! I put everything back in the plastic zip bags the pieces came in! Fold the board and tuck away!
