Almost perfection
I have spent years trying to get the perfect Theatre/Concession taste Popcorn. Research research research and no matter what was just not quite right. What I learned is there are several key factors in getting the perfect popcorn like concession stands and theatres. First, is Flavacol seasoning. Ultimately, the key is to duplicate their process. Flavacol being the seasoning they all use. Then comes the oil. This is where the challenge begins. We all learn it's butter flavored coconut oil with Beta carotene. But everyone is tight lipped about the brand. So, I did some research and ultimately, we know that flavacol is made by Gold Medal and most likely most are using same brand. They also buy in bulk from large concession/restaurant distributors and found that usually that is only sold in 50 gallon drums. last two factors are how it is popped and measurements. We all know they use the large commercial poppers with heat lamps. And yes that is absolutely part of the flavor/secret. I tried the small counter top models just did not do the trick. Finally got a larger higher end 8oz model and that was the final ingredient. However, the oils I tried just were not quite right. Then I took a chance on this and wow,,, EXACTLY like concession/theatre popcorn. Premeasured and pouches arranged so you can access each pouch in order. Simply cut the oil pouch, squeezed into the kettle, let warm/melt. Cut and added the two remaining pouches. Let it pop. Tasted great. However, let it sit under the heat lamp for 20-30 minutes, and BAM perfection. This is all I will order from now on. No measuring, no keeping jars of oil you are not sure of flavor. etc. HIGHLY recommend. For the reviewers that say it is too salty. I don't know what theatre or concession they are getting popcorn from but if anything it is little less salty than what you get at theatre. I keep a shaker of Flavacol seasoning handy just like the theatre. Absolutely not too salty if you are looking for authentic theatre/carnival style popcorn.
