Really...Fried Chicken with No Grease?!
Ninja | French Door Premier | Air Fryer, Convection Oven, Toaster | 5-qt FRIED CHICKEN ANYONE? CRUNCHY POTATOES? OR HONEY GLAZED CARROTS? All you need is our exceptional Air Fryer! After four years living in our new home which had an older kitchen, and me hating the oven, I saw our friends using an Air Fryer for everything. My husband loved our Breville Toaster Oven we have and it has been great but I wanted something more. His complaint was he enjoyed his toast every day and an air fryer to him did not spell toast. Christmas was fast approaching and I just knew my request was a maybe so taking things into my own hands, I ordered an Air Fryer. When it arrived my sweet husband set it up and was going to surprise me. Thank goodness I looked at it first. It was smaller than our microwave. I knew I had not done may homework well enough and no way was it going to cook a pizza. Back it went. Studying every review for many brands, I looked up comparison charts and then announced we were getting this Ninja Air Fryer. After presenting the research I had done on the many models and makes, we together ordered this Ninja French Door model. This appliance has the French doors and they open together making it so easy to be one handed, loading chicken or anything else. Unwrapping the air fryer was like Christmas all over again. It comes so well packed and with each paper to unwrap comes another feature. It was so exciting to see each new piece imagining what the element would prepare for us. My photographs will show you up close the quality of packing and details of the fryer. By the time I thought about pictures, we had already induldged so the plate looks a little empty! Now, let me tell you about the chicken. I first tried out chicken wings. Great appetizer to set on the table? Not a chance! These were so good, they never made it to the table and dinner did not move forward. It was the best fried chicken I had ever had without deep fried chicken in grease! All we did was to rinse the wings, pat dry, season with salt and pepper, and drop them into a zip lock bag with corn starch. Shake them around to coat them evenly and into the air fryer with space around each wing. That’s it! I was raised in the deep south where fried chicken and corn bread were a weekly staple. The very next day my husband went back to the store and bought the value pack of chicken wings. He wanted to try the larger wings whole. They took longer to cook but they were as crispy. I also wanted to buy the boneless skinless chicken breast and slice them like tenders. These should have been breaded. The skin on the wings were better equipped to crisp up easier but still heavily. While the chicken was cooking, what better than fried potatoes with chicken and white pepper gravy to dip it all in? Onward to another course to add to our not dinner! Oh my! The potatoes were amazing. They were so good we took a plate full to our neighbor who was not feeling like eating anything. She only lives five minutes away and she called before my husband returned and had eaten all but one! So, potato wedges we’re next to try. And honey roasted carrots. The cookbook offers a one pan meal with a protein and vegetables roasted. Oh my gosh! Baking corn bread was another find. Our pizza was too large as it was rectangular but we will do it again smaller or round. Next we tried the Carne Asada recipe in the cookbook that came with the air fryer. I had never cooked flank steak. The marinade they have in this recipe is crucial. A tough cut of meat was as tender as any filet mignon! We did cook it about three minutes longer to sear it darker. So far nothing is not just wonderful. Every night we just try something different. I cannot tell you how long its been since we have had so much fun playing with recipes to cook in our oven! This air fryer has brought life back to the kitchen. I do wish it were larger but it does fine for the two of us and with planning, an easy way to prepare many dishes for company. Enjoy this oven we believe from our results, and comparing its to other brands with our friends, surpasses any other. One last thing. We are bad at buying new gadgets and they end up on a wire rack stored in the garage, used only once. This unit is attractive, fits nicely on the counter, takes up less room than our toaster oven, works far better than the conventional oven, cleans easily, and a joy to own. Oh, that toast my husband was concerned about…he makes every day in the air fryer and its better than any toaster we have ever used, or even the toaster oven we now have in a mini upstairs kitchen. Fantastic with realistic expectations
I love this thing! I bought it as a temporary replacement for my full sized oven after it kicked the bucket while I saved for a new one. If it weren't for needing to cook larger items sometimes, I wouldn't bother getting a new oven at all. This does everything I need it to do 95% of the time. I toast my morning bagels in it, heat up leftovers, air fry appetizers, bake cookies, cook steaks and fish, and everything always comes out perfect once you figure out how to adjust the temps. It's a smaller interior so it heats up faster and holds its heat better than a full sized oven. I've found that dropping the temperature by 25 degrees and reducing the cook time by about 15% for any baking recipe works perfectly. It preheats very fast and cooks about 15% faster than my full size oven, so it's saving time in the kitchen. That said, I do think this may not be for someone who routinely cooks large items. You're not getting a full turkey in this thing. But for a couple or a small family, it would be perfect. I can fit a full size frozen pizza in it, four steaks, a whole chicken, and it never leaves things frozen on the inside like a microwave. Another small con is that it doesn't come with a lot of accessories, and Ninja doesn't really have any available. I had to look around on Amazon to find baking sheets and cake pans that fit inside. I found quite a few, but it was inconvenient to go looking for third party accesories in non-standard sizes. Not a huge deal if you don't bake, but I bake a lot and my collection of full sized pans don't fit.

Well designed and well made
Our previous multipurpose countertop oven, a different brand from Ninja that we thoroughly loved, died after only three years of use. Replacement parts didn’t exist, so it went into the trash and our search for a new one began. I settled on this Ninja oven because it looked well designed and we have a couple of other Ninja products and they continue to stand the test of time. I didn’t see many reviews for this, but I liked the specs and how it was designed, and because of past positive experience with Ninja, I went ahead and bought this. I didn’t see some really nice looking ovens from other brands, but the reviews mentioned they didn’t last long and that customer service was non-existent. Upon receiving this oven, I can tell it is indeed very well made. The front panel is well thought out, but took some getting used to, but it works flawlessly! Simple things like toasting multiple slices of bread, each slice is evenly toasted. Our previous oven made some slices darker than others from very uneven heating. We’ve been using this oven for about a month now and we’re very happy with it. I just really hope it lasts longer than three years. It seems almost all tech heavy products just don’t last, but based on our other Ninja products, I’m hopeful this one will stand the test of time. If it doesn’t, I’ll update this review. So far though, we’re very happy with this purchase. We loved our previous oven, but this one is much better.

Great air fryer/toaster over/convection oven combo
I purchased this as a gift for my wife, to replace a cheap basket-style air fryer. This cooks very well, and it cooks fast. It can be used as an air fryer, a toaster over, and a convection oven. The interior can hold a decent amount of food, the french doors can be both opened with one hand (opening one also opens the other), the controls are very easy to set and use, and the build quality seems pretty good. I got this on sale for the holidays, and for what I paid this was a no-brainer. It works much better and faster than our previous unit, and does't take up much more counter space -- it's got a similar footprint to a small microwave oven and will easily fit under standard height cabinets. The external case doesn't get warm when in use. It's easy to clean. We're happy with it, and have no reservations recommending it to others.
