Nitecore NU32- A Wompus Kitty Bright Headlamp
First, my one and only negative, is that this light has two buttons, one for white light and one for red light. This is not really a negative on the light but on me as I've had to retrain myself for using a two button light. Actually, it may be a positive as having two buttons will allow both white and red lights to be activated simultaneously. As for the positives, there are several that I like. Firstly, The super bright 550 lumen function is GREAT, especially while walking down a very dark country road in the area where I live. I usually walk early in morning before daylight. Not much traffic, if any, but there are occasionally wild animals. This function is activated by a long press of the white light button from any brightness setting, while in the white light mode. Secondly, the flashing red function (on the second press of the red light control) is good for one to be seen by on coming drivers and others. It would also be an excellent signal if, by chance, one became lost in a forest! Thirdly, the material of the headband seems to be top notch and extra thick. One does need to install the headband oneself but this is no big deal other making one think about the process some. We can all use a little more brain exercise right! I have some other popular brand headlamps that the the elastic has stretched out and are now basically unusable as a headlamp. Though the lights themselves still function well. I suppose one can hold it in ones hand like a regular flashlight but that is not why one buys a headlamp, is it! Lastly, overall, this headlamp seems to be well made and durable. Don't forget it is waterproof and shock resistant as well! This is a great headlamp. If you are shopping for a headlamp, then buy yours today!

Perfect for dog walks, DIY jobs, and astro-photography! Improved my old favorite!
Updated version of the old NITECORE NU32. Added type C charging, battery indicator, better mode selection, better LEDs, better buttons, better charging port cover. I bought a second one so I always have one in my bag and one at the house. The new knurling and size difference of the buttons makes a huge difference. Especially when wearing gloves. I never press the wrong button anymore! The high CRI flood mode is perfect for working on stuff up close or for walking a puppy at night that loves to eat rocks. Doesn't throw light far, so I don't feel like I'm shinning light into someone's house at 2am. And it's easy to switch into the main light to check the big field for any cats, raccoons or skunks. The red light is great for setting up my star tracker and camera with out wrecking my night vision. It is not the brightest headlamp with miles of throw. But it has great battery life and way more versatility than an obnoxiously bright, throwy, heavy headlamp that eats batteries. Some people do need that. But I'm glad this isn't one of those. I was bummed when my old favorite got discontinued. But this just improves on the old light in every way without sacrificing anything. I might buy a third one... It is so rare for a company to discontinue an old favorite, actually improve the new version while retaining all the old features and not jack up the price. This is ~$5 more than the old one. But it's just simply better and has more things. That's not a money grab by Nitecore. 10/10!

Great headlamp! High Quality & Zero Issues!
I’ve had this headlamp for a while now, and I use it regularly. It’s got two buttons, one for red light, one for white light. You can lock out the buttons by pressing and holding both for like a second so it doesn’t turn on in your bag or pocket or whatever. The strap is robust and I see no issues with wear after heavy use. It’s also comfortable to wear cause it’s a wide strap and doesn’t cut into your head. This thing holds a charge for a long time. (I mostly use on the second white light brightness setting) It’s got 3 levels and then turbo mode which you just hold the white light button instead of a quick click for the first three settings. Red light has a slow strobe feature. You can adjust the angle if the lamp by swiveling it down. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quality headlamp. We have a earlier version from this company that I got for my g/f and we both really liked that one too. So that inspired this purchase. I’ll probably get my next one from them too because their products perform. Hope this helps someone.

Battery life was good
I bought this to use at Star Party when visiting the Grand Canyon. It's a "dark sky" event where white light is prohibited. The red light feature worked great. I'm pleased with the multiple levels of brightness and the battery duration.
