My Two Months With This Oven Grill Combo: A Daily Cook’s Review

I cook every day because of our dietary requirements, and I make almost everything from scratch. For the last three or four years I’ve relied almost entirely on countertop ovens instead of my full range. I still use the big oven during holidays, but for everyday cooking I want something fast, predictable, and easy to clean. This Nuwave is my fourth countertop oven in about three years, and it’s the best one I’ve used. ➡️ WHO THIS REVIEW IS FOR ➜ I love the idea of a countertop oven and grill combo, and the grill plate and probe are serious benefits. ➜ But I haven’t tried either the probe or grill plate yet. I just haven’t needed them. When I do, I’ll update this review. ➜ What I have done is use this countertop oven every day for the last sixty days. ➜ ⭐ So this review is really for people who want to know what it’s like to use this for everyday convection cooking, not grilling. ➡️ THIS ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE A REAL OVEN ➜ The first thing that impressed me was the door. More specifically, the satisfying “THUNK” when it closes. ➜ No, it’s not the same level as a high‑end wall oven. I’m planning a kitchen remodel, so I’ve opened and closed a lot of wall ovens lately. ➜ But compared to my other well‑known countertop ovens, which had loose, rattly doors, this one is better. A. Lot. Better. ➜ That one detail immediately made this oven feel like a real cooking appliance instead of a short‑term visitor on my counter making a pit stop before heading to the recycling station. This guy's here to stay. ➡️ INSULATION IS EXCELLENT ➜ The exterior barely gets warm. ➜ I can cook at high heat without heating up the entire kitchen or worrying about what’s around it. ➜ It still vents on the sides, so obviously, nothing is touching the oven on the sides. ➡️ SETTING TEMP AND TIME: THE BEST I’VE SEEN (NUWAVE UI TEAM, THIS ONE’S FOR YOU) ➜ The dial is one of my favorite parts of this oven. First, I love that it’s a dial at all. ➜ ⭐ But it’s also a SMART dial. ➜ If I spin it quickly, it jumps in ten‑minute increments. ➜ If I slow down, it switches to one‑minute increments. ➜ That makes it fast to set long cook times and easy to fine‑tune short ones. It’s a small detail, but I appreciate it every single day. ➜ (UI team, you have my express permission to reference this feedback from a Very Experienced countertop‑oven user during your performance review.) ➡️ A LITTLE QUIRK TO KNOW ABOUT ➜ When I initially turn on the oven, I set the cooking time and temperature and press the dial to confirm. That part is intuitive. ➜ But once the oven is cooking, if I want to adjust the time or temp, I just turn the dial. I do NOT press it after adjusting the time or temp. ➜ If I press the dial during cooking, even after adjusting the time or temp, the oven pauses. ➜ The oven is so quiet that when other kitchen appliances are going, I can’t hear that it has stopped. ➜ The only indicator that the oven has stopped is the colon on the timer. ➜ If it’s flashing, it’s cooking. If it’s steady, it’s paused. ➜ I wish there were a dedicated pause light, but once I understood the logic, it became second nature. ➜ (UI team, I’d still give you a break on this because I love the dial so much. No need to post this one on Slack.) ➡️ DAILY COOKING PERFORMANCE IS EXCELLENT ➜ I make rosemary potatoes in olive oil several times a week. They’re so delicious. Crispy outside, pillowy soft inside. Total comfort food. ➜ I also make fries with avocado oil, toasted nuts and seeds, toasted sandwiches, roasted veggies, and flatbread pizza. Everything cooks evenly. ➜ I haven’t had issues with hot spots or uneven browning. ➜ I’ve used both racks when I needed to make a lot of sandwiches and it handled that without trouble. ➡️ RACK STABILITY IS GOOD COMPARED TO OTHER COUNTERTOP OVENS ➜ The racks don’t stay completely level when pulled out past the halfway point. ➜ But, they’re better than the ones in my previous ovens, which tipped after pulling out only a quarter of the way, but these still tilt a bit. ➜ If you’re cooking something oily, make sure your tray has a lip so you don’t spill hot oil when sliding it out. ➡️ CLEANING IS UNBELIEVABLY EASY ➜ I’ve used this every day for more than sixty days. I do a deep clean it once a week with Dawn Powerwash and it still looks great. ➜ Even the glass is still clear, which is usually the first thing to cloud up on these ovens. ➜ This one has held up better in terms of staying clean than any other countertop oven I’ve owned. ➡️ PROGRAMMING LIMITATIONS ➜ I thought I’d be able to create a multi‑stage cooking routine, like forty‑five minutes at two hundred degrees followed by fifteen minutes at three hundred (hello Rosemary Potatoes). ➜ But it looks like multi‑stage cooking is tied to using the probe, which I don’t need for my usual meals. Not a dealbreaker, but just FYI. ➡️ AESTHETICS, KITCHEN REMODEL AND EASTER EGG BECAUSE YOU'VE READ THIS FAR ➜ This countertop oven looks great. The front of the oven is very attractive. It doesn't look..., okay, I'm gonna say it, it doesn't look cheap. ➜ While I'm planning my kitchen remodel, I'm really torn about giving this up, even though I'll have fancy wall ovens. I currently have a "deep countetop", over 36 inches, in my kitchen, and I'm keeping it in the remodel plans, becuase I love to tuck my countertop appliances on this deep counter. ➜ But I starte with this on my normal countertop which is about 25 inches deep. It worked great and I love that it doesn't take up too much space. The exterior size is surprisingly compact given the inside space of the oven. Which leads me to...... ➜ ⭐ If you love the look of this, and are into healthy and EASY cooking, you may want to check out the Nuwave Brio Plus 6 quart air fryer. It comes in a great blue color, it doesn't use forever chemicals (so important!), is super easy to clean, and it cooks amazingly fast. Our "standard" family meal is steamed broccoli (microwave), rosemary potatoes (this oven) and roasted chicken thighs (air fryer). The air fryer is so fast, I had to re-plan the timing of our standard meal to accommodate the speed of the air fryer. This oven and the air fryer look great together. ➡️ FINAL THOUGHTS This is the best countertop oven I’ve used. It looks so good on our counter, it cooks evenly and fast, it’s easy to clean, and the UI is well designed. I cook daily and I need something that behaves like a real oven in a smaller footprint, and importantly that I can reach without leaning over, because it just speeds things up. It's turned my range oven into storage space for large heavy pots. I really love this oven, and I’m picky. If you end up getting this, I hope you love it as much as I do and that it makes your life easier and healthier. Happy cooking everyone!

Great upgrade for frequent air fryer users

I own several products from Nuwave, primarily their cookware, which I love. So, being familiar with the company and the quality of their products, I was excited to receive this air fryer oven. I do a lot of air frying, so I was eager to try it out. I decided to make a couple of corn dogs as a simple test. The unit comes with a temperature probe, two basket-style trays (one with flat sides and one with raised sides), and a griddle tray. I was especially grateful for the high-sided tray because when I went to put the corn dogs in, they tried to roll off the side, but didn’t because of the raised edges. It also has an interior light, which makes it easy to check on your food while it’s cooking. The controls take a little time to learn. I had to read the instructions several times, but with practice, I don’t think it’ll be difficult. The display was nice and bright. I preheated the oven to 375 degrees, and that took approximately five minutes. I put the corn dogs in, set the timer, and left them alone. I didn’t have to flip them or shake the basket like you would with a normal air fryer. Since I had them on the top rack, they got a little more done on the tops because that’s where the heating element is. If I make them again, I’ll use the center rack instead. The corn dogs said to cook for 16-20 minutes, and they were done right at 16 minutes. They came out crispy and piping hot with absolutely no cool spots. This unit worked exactly as expected. I would recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their air fryer game. I’m looking forward to making more things in it.

Nice air fryer/grill combo!

This is a nice sized air fryer with a removable grill tray! The unit works very well and I have used it for french fries and toasted ravioli with great success. The included griddle is a nice touch and cooks my food to perfection. Operation is simple; select your desired cook setting whether air fry combination or grill then push the start pause button to start the preheat cycle. You have control over the temperature and the cook time, the unit turns off when the cooking time expires. I haven't had an opportunity to use the temperature probe feature. Wire tray, a shallow wire basket, the grill and a drip tray are included with the oven. Thoughts on the grill feature. I have used the grill to cook mushroom caps and bratwurst and both were cooked to perfection! The bratwurst did cause a lot of smoke due to the fat content and oil splatter in the oven, extensive cleanup was needed after cooking. I would recommend lower fat content meats to avoid the cleanup. Grilled veggies are perfect! I'm very happy with this medium sized oven! It's perfect when I cook something too big for my smaller toaster oven but don't want to fire up the full sized version. It does a good job of retaining heat to the unit allowing me to place it about an inch from the wall. A very nice oven, air fryer and grill combo!

A Nuwave Perfectly Cooking Machine !!

The Nuwave airfryer combo grill is a must have kitchen appliance. The airfryer boasts 1800 watts of power to perfectly cook items and has very less noise when doing so. Our previous air fryer had presets and that is one thing we missed when we bought this one as replacement. Nuwave does have presets for various items but takes a few setup steps to achieving that. We are happy with its value to money and after research of various brands, sizes, features and warranty. If you are seeking a more rich cooking experience the. this does have grill and combo support as well which is and added value. The control center is intuitive and the product quality is very good.
