Customer reviews

Sturdy and functional
I ordered two of these last week and just came back to order another. They are great for craft storage -- markers, paint brushes, sewing notions, scrapbooking papers and tools. I thought they were fairly easy to assemble, but I have to admit that I LOVE putting this kind of stuff together. The instructions were quite clear -- mostly pictures -- and I liked that the parts/tools box had a bag with a few extra of pretty much every dowel, screw, cam, bolt, etc. Someone in a previous review had mentioned that the instructions did not mention that the bottoms of the drawers HAD to go in a certain way or it would screw things up when you added the drawer rails. I noted their advice/photo, but it wasn't needed as the company must have addressed the issue and put a sticker on the drawer bottoms to note which way was 'front'. I agree with other reviewers that the casters were pretty cheap feeling, but I wasn't adding them anyway. If I did want casters, I think I would go to a hardware store and buy some decent and sturdier ones. One thing I would mention is that 2 oz. craft paint bottles WILL NOT fit in the drawers -- I should have read the drawer dimensions more closely on that one! A couple of tips that may or may not be helpful: 1. I added a bit of wood glue in the dowel holes just to make the unit a bit sturdier. 2. There are A LOT of screws used to put the rails on the carcass and on the drawers. It's handy to have a power screwdriver -- I used it to get the screws 90% of the way in, then I tightened with a manual screwdriver. 3. It's hard to know how far to push the dowels in -- if you just pound/push them in until they bottom out, sometimes there is not much left sticking out. I took a toothpick and stuck it into the matching holes that the dowel would go into. I put a mark on the toothpick at that depth. When I pounded in the dowel, I used the mark on the toothpick to know if I had enough of the dowel still sticking out to fill the hole on the other pieces. The dowels are sort of just a guide to get the pieces together right so you can tighten the cam/bolt hardware, but if you add glue to the dowel holes, you want to make sure there is enough dowel in each part to actually make that connection. 4. Pressboard can be a little difficult to start screws in. I took a small awl and pushed it into the wood just a bit to create a pilot hole so the screws would grip more easily.

Great value. Great product. Would buy again. But would buy again and again with one enhancement!
This flat-packed file cabinet is better than the price point suggests. It was easy to assemble, sturdy, and makes my under-the-desk storage more organized. Frankly, I used to have a lot of bent, bowed, folded, crumbled, marked paper - and now I have specialty paper stored in a condition that can be put to work. I also love that even with the wheels, it fits under my desk. Drawers move smoothly. Black finish disappears under the desk in a good way (unlike the rickety stack of messy paper that was there before). My negative? The inside of the drawer is only 15 1/4" wide, which means that a drawer will not hold two pieces of 8 1/2 x 11 side by side; if they had made the inside diameter of the drawer two inches bigger I would have been over the moon! The piece is big/wide without adding the extra benefit of more efficient paper storage. Now, I store envelopes alongside paper (it's not the end of the world, it just could be better). This review could have taken a darker turn but they have GREAT customer service! When I was assembling the piece, I discovered one piece was mis-drilled. No one wants to disassemble and repack a cabinet for a return... NO PROBLEM! My email was promptly responded to and the part was immediately shipped to my house - as part of an entire replacement unit. Clearly, this was a one-off error because the second build did not have any mis-drilled pieces and went together quickly. Very pleased. I would buy from this vendor again.

Really nice product.
I’m always looking for products like this but most are cheap plastic or the sizes are too small to be useful for my situation. I’ve been looking for something to store large spools of embroidery thread. This looked promising and when it came in, I was pleasantly surprised at how durable these product is. It’s the perfect height for my needs, assembly does take some time but it’s pretty straightforward. You’re going to do the same task 7 times in a row for each drawer but all parts are clearly labeled. I’d suggest having two people to build it just because some pieces need to be held up in position while getting screwed together and that could be challenging without an extra set of hands. Drawers slide in and out smoothly. Wheels are durable and roll smooth. Just a really well built product. I’ll probably purchase a few more shortly to replace the sterile drawers I have.

Watch the Assembly Video!
I got the 5 tier one and I love it! Honestly it took me a while to put together, but the instruction video was clear and super helpful. At first, a couple of drawers wouldn't slide in all the way, I realized the screws on the railings weren't all the way in, but that was my only issue. Put the screws straighter and everything was smooth. The labels peeled off super easy after assembly, and there were no scratches or damages. It looks so beautiful in the end and I'm happy with the size I ordered. Worth it in my opinion!
