Customer reviews

Beautifully designed & a brilliant concept
I honestly never thought I would give a 5-star rating to a journal. I'm the kind of person who buys journals, writes in them for a week or so, and then gets bored. I bought this journal because I wanted to start getting into the habit of reflecting on my day before bed. I also wanted to jot down reminders of events and milestones, because of my horrible long-term memory. Based on the reviews for this book, I thought I would give the whole one-line-a-day thing a shot. It is now 3 months later and I am more than pleasantly surprised. Writing in this book is not a chore. Writing in this book is easy peasy, rewarding, and (dare I say it?) fun! I don't feel pressured into having to fill entire pages with my questionably existent thoughts. When I stumble home after a long day and just want to roll into bed, I see this book on my night stand and say to myself, "Might as well write something, it will only take a minute!" Even if I forget to fill in a day, going back and filling in a line takes up minimal time. Aside from the 5-star concept behind this book, the design is also beautiful. The blue color is slightly different from what I expected based on the main product image. It's more of a Tiffany blue, with gorgeous gold embellishments. The gold-edged pages are another great bonus! The book looks amazingly elegant and appealing on my night stand. Even the inside pages are aesthetically pleasing and simple enough that it makes my handwriting look pretty. Each page has 5 or 6 lines per section, and 5 sections per page. The idea behind this is that you can look at your entries from a single day over 5 years all on 1 page. Pretty cool! I love looking back on my past entries and I love the challenge of narrowing down my busy days into 1 or 2 of the most important events. It has now been about 3 months since I have started writing in the One Line a Day memory book. I don't even think I've ever had a journal for this long before! This book has definitely succeeded in keeping me in the habit of journaling, and I am so glad I bought it. Future me is eternally grateful.

One Line a Day: A Five-Year Memory Book ...
Update 1/2020: I've now given these journals as gifts to an absolute ton of people, including men, women, and teenagers. Everyone loves it. It keeps things simple and encourages just enough reflection each day. Amazing gift! I've also been writing in mine going on 3 years now. Seeing where I've been and where I am today is wonderful and even sometimes sobering. Sometimes I see I still have something to work on, or I realize I've moved on from a troubling place. The beauty of this book is profound. I love it. Original review: I gave this as a gift to someone who I knew would like to be able to see her five years contained in a book. She also journals, though I didn't know it was something she was so committed to. She absolutely loved this gift. The books were so affordable (~$11) that I ordered two in case I could find someone to give the other to. I ended up liking the concept so much I decided to keep the second for myself. I've written in it every day since I got it and I can already tell I'm going to find revisiting my days each year to be very insightful. The blue color and gold detailing make this a classy, simple gift. Absolutely worth every penny and is more than just a journal. It's a gift in many senses of the word.

Memory booklet.
A family friend told me to buy this a year ago now. After a full year I’m telling you it’s worth it! He’s had it for years and relied on it heavily as of late. He recently visited us again (he is my brother in laws childhood best friend and my brother in law lives with us) after a 1.5 years apart and not keeping up much. He let us know he was diagnosed with a brain tumor a few months after our last visit, and the removal left some of his memories scattered or completely gone. He’s relied on his few lines he wrote to learn about his own life and his friends and memories he’s forgotten. I thought he was joking at first because wow that just doesn’t really happen in real life. but he showed me the scar and the pictures from the coma that followed. I realized how precious our life is and how important memories are to keep, and bought one instantly after that. I’ve used my one line a day now for a full year and can read the above passage from the same day a year ago. I love the short lines and how i can just write for 2 minutes at most and have a memory saved. I highly recommend this way of journaling your life. You never know what is in your future and this is a beautiful way to preserve your past. 10/10

A Simple Habit That’s Become a Daily Joy
I’ve tried to keep journals before, but I always fell off track, until this one. It’s simple, approachable, and incredibly easy to keep up with. Just a few lines a day is all it takes, and that’s made all the difference. Whether I jot down a memory, something funny the kids said, or a little moment of gratitude, this journal has become a cherished part of my routine. The quality is excellent, sturdy cover, smooth pages, and it feels like something that will last through all five years and beyond. As long as I can keep my puppy from chewing on it (see attached picture!) The concept is brilliant, and it would make a thoughtful gift for anyone, especially those who want to capture the beauty in everyday life but don’t have time for long journaling sessions. You truly can’t put a price on memories, and for what it costs, this journal is an incredible value. Highly recommend!
