Great value if you love popcorn
Before I stumbled on this behemoth (and bought it 2 soon to be 3 times now),I didn't know having the option to buy 8 lbs of popcorn was even a thing, but I love that it is (thanks adulthood!) The quality of the kernels has always been good and makes a tasty snack, but the one thing I will say is,the popcorn turns out much better (in my opinion) using a hot air popper like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006IUWA?th=1 (The Presto 04820 Poplite Hot Air Popcorn Popper,if the link doesn't work.) then one that goes in the microwave like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004W4UP (The Nordic Ware Microwave Popcorn Popper,if the link doesn't work.) I own both of these and always go back to using the hot air popper over the microwave,it makes fluffy flawless popcorn every time, there's a reason this style of popper has been around since the late 70's,because it works, the microwave popper, not so much,I mean unless you like your popcorn dry and crispy with burnt notes, don't waste good popcorn on bad equipment. The jug is pretty heavy when it's full,so if you can't lift heavy things (like me),I suggest putting the popcorn in a smaller container (I use a mason jar with a screw lid),and just refill that when it gets low, instead of hauling out the entire jug (I use the smallest scoop from this set: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08XC5RKKN?th=1 for refilling - The 3 in 1 Ice Scoop Set, Multi Purpose Plastic Kitchen Scoops,if the link doesn't work) it makes life so much easier, work smarter not harder,as they say. If you love popcorn, and want lots of it,I'd definitely recommend buying it this way,it's a much better deal then what you get in the stores with the bags and jars (the biggest one my local stores carry is 30 oz for around $7.50,although,I did see a different brand with a 60 oz container for around $9.49,so make of that what you will.) I still say you can't go wrong with 8 lbs of popcorn though,as long as they keep making it,I'll keep buying it!

If you get the right stuff it’ll taste just like the movies
I recently purchased the Orville Redenbacher's Gourmet Popcorn Kernels in the 8 lb bag, and I couldn't be happier with my decision! If you're a popcorn lover like I am, this product is a must-have for your pantry. First and foremost, the quality of the kernels is exceptional. They pop up large, fluffy, and with a satisfying crunch that’s hard to beat. I've tried other brands in the past, but none have compared to the consistent results I get with Orville Redenbacher’s. The popping ratio is impressive—almost every kernel pops, which means less waste and more delicious popcorn to enjoy. The flavor is another highlight. These kernels have a natural, buttery taste that stands out when I prepare them with a little bit of oil and salt. They’re versatile, too! I love experimenting with different seasonings, from classic butter and salt to more adventurous flavors like cheese or caramel. Plus, since it’s a blank canvas, it’s easy to customize to suit any movie night or snack craving. The 8 lb bag is perfect for frequent popcorn makers. It’s economical and ensures I always have a stash ready for family movie nights, game days, or just a cozy evening at home. The packaging keeps the kernels fresh, and I've had no issues with stale popcorn, even after a few weeks of use. Overall, Orville Redenbacher's Gourmet Popcorn Kernels are a fantastic choice for anyone who loves making popcorn at home. The quality, flavor, and convenience of the 8 lb bag make it a great value. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying snack!

Very happy with this product. Best popcorn I ever had.
Very happy with the quantity for the price. The container is nice with more than enough hand room. As for the quality of the kernels themselves.... Very impressed with what I got. I'd say it's even better than bagged microwave popcorn. More kernels pop. They don't easily scorch (I can put it in for 3:30 without it tasting off, while bagged versions scorch around 3:20 in, with more than quarter tasting off at 3:30). There isn't much "shell" after it pops, leaving you with more of the crispy+fluffy white outer layer. It seems sweeter than other brands, which I am not used to. It's definitely pleasant, but at the same time not what I grew up with. IMO the sweetness blends very well when you add salt and butter and becomes even more addictive than if you were using another type of popcorn. It seems to hold okay with salt and butter, perhaps just a tad slippery/silkier than what I am used to, but I find the touch of it very enjoyable, way better than any kernel I ever touched. It is on the fragile side, so I haven't made caramel version with it yet, mostly out of fear of having too many crumbs. I am sure with glazes it would be fine, but I just don't have any to test it out. Overall, this is an amazing, premium product. I highly recommend giving it a try even if you are a bit hesitant of its mild sweetness as reported in other (and my) reviews. It's very slight. You only notice it because it's not the same as the popcorn you probably had +1,000 times already. I can see myself getting used to it to the point of not noticing anymore.
