My college-age daughter is absolutely smitten with her Osprey Ozone Laptop Backpack—and it’s easy to see why. The first thing that caught her eye was the stunning burgundy color. It’s a rich, red-wine hue that feels both sophisticated and youthful, making it a standout accessory on campus. But this backpack isn’t just about looks—it’s impressively lightweight and exceptionally well-constructed. Despite its featherlight feel, it’s sturdy enough to handle the daily grind of college life. It comfortably fits her 16" laptop, along with books, folders, and other essentials. The main compartment is spacious and thoughtfully designed, keeping everything organized without feeling bulky. One of the standout features is the array of smaller compartments. The front zipper pocket is perfect for quick-access items like keys or a student ID, while the interior pockets are ideal for miscellaneous items—chargers, pens, snacks, you name it. The back panel is ventilated to help keep contents cool, and the padding throughout the bag offers excellent protection for electronics and other valuables. The shoulder straps are another highlight. They’re well-padded and ergonomically designed, making the backpack comfortable to wear even during long days on the move. The addition of a sternum strap is a smart touch—it helps distribute weight more evenly, which is especially helpful when the bag is fully loaded. If we had one small gripe, it’s the side pouch. My daughter was hoping to use it for her water bottle, but it’s quite snug. Even her smaller bottle was a tight fit, and stretching the pocket to accommodate it felt like a bit of a struggle. A compact umbrella might fit better, but for hydration on the go, she’ll likely need to carry her bottle separately. That was a minor letdown in an otherwise stellar design. Overall, this backpack has been a fantastic investment for her college journey. It’s stylish, comfortable, and built to last—everything you’d expect from Osprey. Yes, their bags are on the pricier side, but the quality and durability make it well worth the cost. If you're looking for a backpack that blends form and function with a touch of elegance, the Osprey Ozone is a top contender.

More interior room than expected

This Osprey pack appears to be heavier, but it is remarkably light. The exterior has really good padding surrounding the front which works well to create stiffness to the bag and protect whatever is inside of it. The shoulder straps are pretty good and are well built. It has the traditional sternum strap so if you are having to move fast or your hands are full, you can easily secure the pack in place and do whatever you want. Inside the pack I was surprised with how much room is present. It has 3 different access points with two being the larger ones and the 3rd being a small area on the front of the pack. The small one is great for glasses or other smaller items such as a small recharge battery that you would want to have easy access to. This is also where the padding comes in handy as the more fragile things are protected. In the area closest to your back, it is set up for a computer and other devices. I could easy fit a large laptop in the area and still have room for power cable or another smaller laptop or tablet. The main compartment has areas for pens and other work (or school) type stuff that you may want to travel with. The compartment was remarkably large even though it does not appear that way. The zipper gives you decent access to it but it is very much a stuff things in and dig them out type. It did easily hold a change of clothes and my shoes, which surprised me. I still had some room left! As I am larger, I am sure a more normal sized person can fit considerably more. The only down side I found was the small pouches on the outside that are designed for water bottles or other similar type containers. My normal 750ml bottle struggled to fit in these, and they appear to be designed for a 500ml disposable bottle instead of a larger water bottle. If the bag was near empty I could squeeze mine in. Fortunately, with the size on the inside, I just tossed it in. Overall I am very happy with the pack and will gladly take this on trips.

Perfect laptop bag

If you are looking for a laptop bag that will also carry the rest of your travel essentials, this is it. This is a super awesome bag that very well thought out. You have an oversized back zippered area for a laptop. Most laptops will fit - the machine would have to be extremely big to not fit. Within that area there's a pouch which might hold a small notebook or file folder. This part sits closest to your back. The next zippered area is for power bricks, pens, chargers, and cables. There are two small mesh pockets and a zippered pocket, along with a clip for keys. There is a zippered pocket on the front of the bag, best used for the things that you need quickly without having to dig. On each side is a pocket for a water bottle or umbrella. These are really tight and I feel like only the smallest water bottle or umbrella would fit. There is also a super useful handle on the side so you can carry it like a brief case. The back of the bag has the Airscape cut outs so the bag doesn’t get hot while wearing. The cutouts are covered with mesh to help it breathe. There is also a sleeve that fits over most luggage handles, although I wish it was positioned in “landscape” vs. “portrait” orientation. The arm straps have adjustable buckles and also the Airscape cut outs, which is super useful. There is a cross strap to go across your sternum for those longer treks. On that buckle is a little safety whistle, which is such a good addition. When loaded, the bulk of the bag is more centered on your back instead of your shoulders. This makes it extremely comfortable to wear. This will carry a laptop no problem and you’d probably be able to add a tablet, too. It’s really a great bag it for are looking for something for school or the office.

Great laptop backpack

This backpack is just about perfect for my work loadout. The size is just right, and it has the usual Osprey comfort. The organization is just right, and the laptop sleeve offers a good amount of protection. All the materials and construction are of the highest quality.
