Excellent coffee cups! I bought 4
I drink coffee daily, always when I wake up. My husband purchased these for me as I needed a reusable coffee cup on the go. I typically drink my coffee during my morning commute to work. It's almost impossible to drink hot coffee without a lid while driving....it goes everywhere!! I tried and I was fed up! He finally got us these Owala coffee cups with lids. Hallelujah!!! My husband found these at our local grocery store and decided to give them a try. He purchased a deep purple color and the tan color. They have the twist on/off coffee lids with the sliding closure tops to keep the coffee warm and to keep your coffee in the cup while on the move and not drinking. Let me tell you, I've been so impressed! We loved them so much, we went to Amazon to purchase more colors. Our local store was sold out! We purchased the pink and green online. Pros: These are insulated stainless steel cups. You cannot use anything other than stainless steel in my opinion for cleanliness and longevity. It will keep your coffee warm for as long as your drinking on it during your morning commute and during work for a bit longer. The smooth sip slider lid is amazing! The main reason is because it's fully detachable meaning no gunk gets stuck in it or missed during cleaning. You simply pop off the top piece and then switch the inside black piece allowing everything to be cleaned separately. The lid is easy to twist on and off. The sliding closure is also super easy to use and it definitely keeps the coffee in when closed and fumbling it around. The design is super sleek and classy. It's simple yet extremely functional. It has everything you need to it. It's very durable. Seems like it will last years 🤞🏻. Super happy with this product!!! Great value for the money. Cons: Speaking of money ...wow, these are expensive. I really hate to spend $30 for a cup! It almost caused me to not buy more. However after looking at other options, they were not super cheap either. Very unfortunate. I'm hopeful they will last with that price point. While I raved about the detachable lid pieces, I did really hurt my finger popping it out. My husband typically breaks the lid down for cleaning but this time he was busy so I did. I really hurt my finger but lesson learned, don't use your fingernails to pop off the top piece..it cracked my fingernail and it bruised and wouldn't stop bleeding. That could be a me problem but anyway...lol, be careful popping the lid pieces off! Overall, I love my cups but hate the price. I now have 4 so that should tell you something lol. Highly recommend and happy with my purchases!

The Pros and three small Cons
Just received this mug/tumbler, and I’m impressed enough with it to want to mention a few things about it. Pro: ~The first impression is that this is a quality product, solid and hefty (okay, the latter might be a small con for some; at about 10-1/2 oz empty, it does weigh more than you’d expect for its size). ~The top screws on very smoothly, much more so than my long-time favorite Contigo tumbler whose more rubbery top takes a little more effort to screw on. ~The design of the sipping spout makes it surprisingly comfortable to put ones lips around. ~The fact that it’s spill-proof, although being the prime reason I bought this, is still worthy of mention. As much as I liked the similar-sized Corksicle “wine tumbler”, two spills on my clothes while carrying it prompted me to search for and find this Owala. ~Its matte texture is both nice-looking and feeling. ~The various printed instructions that came with it (mainly for disassembling the lid) were well-written by an English speaker as opposed to being an awkward translation from Chinese like so many things that are manufactured in and come, as this does, from China. Cons: (note that I probably should take a star off this rating, but (a) who reads 4-star reviews? And (b) in the overall scheme of things, these cons really don’t matter) ~Disassembling the lid for cleaning is not intuitive and a little awkward the first time you do it, despite the good instructions. On the other hand, it’s good that it can be done because spill-proof lids do have a habit of getting “gunky.” This one won’t. ~Having to press down to slide the lid open and the fact that it doesn’t snap back closed, but has to be pushed back is less smooth than say, the spill-proof Contigo lid that open and closes with simple thumb pressure when sipping from it. That said, the Contigo is harder to clean and much more prone to getting gunked up. ~Finally, the one major nit I have to pick is that a little rubber disk that *should* be on the bottom of the tumbler to prevent its sliding, marring furniture, and keeping the bottom of the tumbler from scratching is not there; the disk does exist, but has to be purchased separately for 6 bucks (for two of them), which is not only odd but seems pretty petty, don’t you think?

I no longer need to look for other mugs to buy
I love this Owala mug! If you're looking for a commuter friendly mug, this one is for you. I picked this mug because I have a 45-minute commute (1 hr if there's traffic), then I walk 0.5 miles to my office, so I needed a mug that would stay extra warm and doesn't spill. This travel mug doesn't spill at all, I toss it in with my laptop and don't have to worry. I also love how simple it looks, it's great to bring to the office or keep at home, I just appreciate clean and neutral looks. I also didn't think I'd like the sipping feature of the lid as much as I did, I really thought it was just for design but it actually improves the drinking quit a bit especially if you're drinking as you're walking. I'm somewhat clumsy and I do tend to spill drinks on myself especially if I'm drinking and walking, so the protruding sipping feature actually helps a lot... I appreciate it! I make my coffee at 7am, and it stays hot until 1-2pm! I also occasionally make ice coffee, and it stays pretty cold for 12 hours as well (I do put a lot of ice too). Overall, this is the mug that made me stop buying other mugs or looking for a better product because it meets my needs. It is a bit pricey, but for me, it is the last mug I'll buy. It's neutral and pretty, it's leakproof, I love the sipping feature, it keeps my drinks hot or cold through my commute and day, and it's beautiful to hold as well. Once my hydroflask mug naturally dies (it barely keeps my coffee warm past an hour), I plan to retire it and if needed, just get another Owala.

Great Travel Mug for Daily Use
I got the Owala SmoothSip Slider Insulated Stainless Steel Coffee Tumbler, 12 oz, Vanilla Bean for my cousin, and it’s been a hit. The insulation is excellent, hot drinks stay warm for hours, and iced coffee stays cold without sweating. The slider lid is smooth and easy to use, making it convenient for sipping on the go without spills. The tumbler feels sturdy but lightweight, and the 12 oz size is perfect for a single serving of coffee or tea. I also like that it’s BPA-free and reusable, so it’s eco-friendly while still practical for daily use. The Vanilla Bean color is subtle and stylish, a nice touch for anyone who likes simple but elegant designs. Overall, it’s a reliable, high-quality travel mug that’s great for commuting, work, or just enjoying a hot or cold drink anywhere.
