These are REALLY nice journals well worth the $5/per notebook. The covers feel durable and is buttery smooth with a very high quality appearance. A nice 1/2" elastic band serves to keep it closed with two differently colored ribbons working as placeholders and protruding from the bottom of each book. Inside, the first page provides a fill-in the blank sheet for the owner's name and contact information for if it is ever lost (hopefully the finder will actually get in contact). The pages are what makes this REALLY SHINE - I am a person who writes through outlines. Large - two line (two dots) in height headline followed by indented details. It works for me and this paper makes it MUCH more efficient. ANYONE who writes/journals/etc. through outlines should definitely try using dotted paper rather than lined as it makes for MUCH neater columns/bullet lines. The binding is done very well and is quite tight allowing the book to safely be opened and pressed flat against the table so that both sides of the paper may be written upon. Using a porous point marker, there was zero bleed-through with standard writing and only a tiny bit with light sketching - none of which traveled to the adjacent page. Lastly, the journal includes an extendable storage pocket on the inside rear cover - into which things like page markers, stencils, etc. could easily be fit. Verdict: I absolutely recommend these for anyone looking for a nice set of journals. The price is certainly right and the quality is outstanding. Very happy to provide five stars.
