Customer reviews

No motion detection. Video sounds low usually. 5-star customer service though!!
I ordered this (mainly) to remember my beloved soulmate and fur baby. I have lots and lots of photos and videos. I chose this frame mainly because of the ability to upload videos up to 5 minutes in length. The majority of digital frames limit this to 15-30 seconds. There is no remote-control device. The app does not control the frame either; its main purpose is for uploading videos/photos. The last photo shows the premium frame's stand (I returned the first frame after contacting PhotoSpring's customer support and upgraded to the premium frame). More on that in a moment. Setup is pretty straightforward. Some that are not tech savvy might need a little help. The frame supports thumb/flash drives and SD cards for added storage. The built-in storage will hold a LOT of videos and photos. Using the web-based utilities, it is super easy to add photos/videos to the frame. They upload very quickly that way. One can email them to the frame too. Friends and family can email them to your frame. Unlike some frames, this one supports numerous photos and videos being uploaded at the same time, or rather in the same session. I was not satisfied with the sound quality of the regular frame and contacted their customer service. These people (Charles and Dan) were 5-star! It was suggested that I upgrade to their premium frame. For another $25, I was upgraded to the premium frame, plus they paid to ship my regular frame to them, transferred my current videos/photos to the new one, and then shipped it back to me. This took about 1 week altogether. I'm still not completely thrilled with the sound, but I think it's partly because the speakers are in the back of the frame. I have it setting across the room (about 12 feet away and I am a little hard of hearing). The frame is made so that it can be detached from the main frame and passed around to guests or held in your hands. The frame is rechargeable and can be left detached. The premium frame offers controls for volume, etc., on the back, whereas the regular frame is all done via touchscreen. I did not notice a big problem with fingerprints due to the touchscreen. The photos and videos are vibrant. The cord is long enough for the most uses. The premium frame will need an adapter since the power cord is USB on the end that does not plug into the frame. There're several settings to allow how you want to have videos display (auto play with sound, etc.). I do sort of wish it had motion sensing so it would turn off when I am not in the room or when there is no motion. It can be set to play on a schedule. This is also done via touchscreen. I have had several digital frames, as well as my iPhone, that supposedly rotate pictures so that you don't see the same ones over and over again. None, including this one, seem to be great at having an algorithm that ensures that you don't have a bunch of repeats in what you see. I have over 600 photos/videos on this frame right now and see the same ones over and over a whole lot throughout the day, without seeing a lot of the others. But such has been my experience with all of these types of frames so far. I gave this 5 stars. It is probably a 4.5-star frame, but the outstanding customer service bumped it up for me.

Easy to Load. Clear Pictures.
I was looking for a frame as a gift so I decided to get one for personal use first to be sure I wanted to give one to someone else. I initially found it fairly easy to load pictures. Photos can be sent to the frame several different ways. As a non-techie I found was able to use it without pulling out my thinning hair. I can see where it would be quite useful as is indicated in the description/promotional writing for sharing pictures among geographically separated family members or with older relatives who do not have a clue about using anything remotely technical. After working with my initial frame I found I did have a problem. Using on line chat with PhotoSpring's technical service, I was advised to send them my frame for repair/replacement. They gave me the option to clear my pictures from the frame or to have them migrate the pictures if they replaced the frame. They sent a prepaid shipping label. All I had to do was box it up and drop it off. PhotoSpring kept me advised by email as to what was happening all the way through the process. They ended up replacing a major part of the unit, thoroughly checked it, and sent it back with my pictures intact. I received the unit back exactly one week after I shipped it. I was highly impressed with both their service and their communications. Now I have had the frame over a month. I like the ease of working with it and the quality of the pictures displayed. I have sized most of the pictures to fit the frame when possible, but I have also sent some full size pictures from my phone or computer. You have options on how the pictures are formatted as they are displayed, which I appreciate. I now have over 2,000 photos and a dozen short videos on the frame and it is only to 18% capacity. I like the frame! I was also happy to find "service" actually meant service when I had my problem. I purchased an eight inch frame and another ten inch frame to give as gifts. And I may find myself getting more frames as gifts in the future. Thanks PhotoSpring. Ya done good. lol

Customer service is ABOVE AND BEYOND
We got this frame as a memorial frame for our beloved cat who passed in 2021. After much research for a frame that would play pictures AND videos in an automatic slideshow we decided on the PhotoSpring. Setup was easy, we were both able to send our memories from our various phones to the frame without issues. It ran perfectly for over a year and a few months. Last week (Feb 2023) it was getting an automatic update and got stuck at 0% installing the update. No way to force it to reset, no easy instructions for factory default settings. Hard reboots just kept bringing up the same screen stuck trying to update. I reached out to customer service and was told to send the frame back for warranty repair and they'll swap the memory. Sounds okay to me, I packaged it up nice and safe and left it in my car to drop off the next time I got a chance. Customer support response was prompt and courteous. Here's where they blew me away though. Couple days later I get another email from customer service. They said they might have a way to remotely fix the frame if I haven't already sent it out. I was surprised they still worked on my issue after 2 days! Luckily I procrastinated a bit on mailing it off so I unpacked it, plugged it in as instructed and waited. I was told the dev team would work on it in a few hours. This morning I wake up and the frame is back to normal. That was insane. They didn't have to keep working on my issue, but the team took the time to do so. For just me. Or at least it felt like it was just for me, but that's all the counts for customer service is making each individual customer FEEL special. That felt like ABOVE AND BEYOND to me. Tldr; the frame is great and in the rare event you encounter anything wrong with it, I highly encourage reaching out to PhotoSpring. They got you and will take care of you.

Excellent Frame
I was looking for a frame that could import photos easily from a variety of sources and this really fit the bill. The setup was amazingly easy and I have imported photos via email, the app, and from a USB drive. Each method was easy, seamless, and fairly quick. One note, email importing is somewhat limited by the file size allowed by emails so I couldn't send a video or a bunch of photos at once. That's why I downloaded the app which works well. The picture quality seems fine although my photos are almost all from iPhones of various ages and I'm not the greatest photographer so I can't comment on the quality from high end camera equipment. The settings are also very intuitive and easy to use. My only minor peeve is that the random slide show shuffle seems to grab 5-10 photos in a row from a given spot on your list but it otherwise seems quite random. It you're looking for a reasonably priced, versatile easy to use frame this is an excellent choice.
